Just thought I'd chime in with the others...it's okay, really.
*insert long, rambling story with minimal point*
Someone was shouting in San D'Oria for help with a teamwork quest. I fit the bill, so I told her, count me in, I'll meet you at the tower. Start running there......and the lights go out as I run past Justi's Furniture. Lucky for.........well, I don't know who.....my UPS was working (for once) and kept the game running.....but only on my PC. Why? Because idiot that I am, I didn't plug the router into the UPS.
/ja "Fish Slap" <me>
So I'm wandering around, all alone, sending this girl /tells that I wasn't sure if I was going to make it, /tells which, of course, she never received, because I didn't realize the gravity of my stupidness. After a long while, POL gives up trying and slowly boots me back to login.
*end long, rambling story*
The moral is, I felt so bad about letting that girl down that I wrote down what I thought was her name and waited patiently for a week and a half until I saw someone who fit her description. She'd forgotten all about it since then, and had replaced me in the teamwork quest within two minutes of deciding I wasn't coming. "......oh! lol, it's okay"
>.> Soooo....my worry outweighed the severety of the DC-age. Yeah.
Either that or they level and suddenly 'I'm tired' or 'I have to eat dinner' ... come on, they should at least be honest!
It's not like it's a bad thing, when you go after you level. But a notice atleast 5-10 minutes before, that you're leaving after you level is at least appropariate. It's not bad at all if you just wanna push it a few more minutes and then leave after you level. Or what, disband when you're about 100 tnl, leave, and then solo it? ~.~

This is definatly a difference of view from older players to newer. With older players to join the party is basically an agreed commitment to stay till party decides an end, not a single player. That's why you'll have mixed feelings about that idea, because some players when they invite you are expecting you to be there till party reaches it's defined end. Generally would be party leader to decide this end.
Responsibility of this generally given to leader because he spent the effort to create the party.

Xaoko lemme just say that cats is so cute I will usually appologize to the pty leader if something like that happens. I think the worst case was me falling asleep in the middle of fighting while I was ptying in the dunes :D
I don't have a problem with people wanting to leave after they level, but I do have a problem with them giving no prior warning. People should give at least 15 minutes before they quit a party.
If they don't want to look bad in the eyes of everyone else, they can atleast also find their own replacement. I always do if I have to disband for whatever reason. Atleast it wouldn't be taking time from the rest of the party from gaining exp while they seek for a new 6th.
I have my PCs on battery backups but if the power is out for more then 5 min the server takes over and starts a network wide shutdown to keep from losing any data or having hardware failers. This is a grate system it just sucks that I hade my music up to loud to hear the warning beeps.
