I was playing earlier and saw 2 people standing in front of the MH, one was a young galka and the other a boy, was wondering what this was? I never seen that before is it something new?

it's from the fest of swords event

one of the rewards is a food that turns you (temporarily) into male children.

There are food items given out during previous events (the Doll Festival, I believe) that give a temporary costume effect. There's an item for each of the race/gender combinations that turns you into a child of that race and gender. They only work in towns.

Would be funny to be able to go use them outside of town. Go running around as a young Galka and make the nooblets scratch their heads in the dunes .

I bought 3 rice cakes (I'm guessing this is the item you were talking about), I used one already. It turned me into a little female Mithra, it was cool.^^ Random people started talking to me.

Those are from the "Festival of Doll's" or something similiar to that. It's a celebration to young girls as the Feast of Swords is a celebration to young boys. Even though everyone likes shadow beating ;p

Ah so thats what it was.

I was suppose to meet my boyfriend in Bastok Market and he invited me to join a party. But I couldn't find him. A little boy walked up to me and kept following me around. I thought it was a NPC.

And it turns out it was him. XP

Yeah I ate a rice cake and went from a Huge Galka to a hume girl, was funny running around Bastok with my name above Brickshouse.

If you are wondering the food items works as such:

<race> Rice Cake = Female child of <race>
<race> Mochi = Male child of <race>

Rice Cakes come from the "Doll Festival" (Festival intended to celebrate the frutitily and beauty of females)
Mochi come from the "Festival of Swords" (Festival intended to celebrate the frutitily and strength of males)

Items are fun to mess with, the players that never do the events are always surprised to see a female/male child running around in Jeuno.

Yeah I imediately targeted a Quadav in bastok and hit my attack macro, wondered why it wouldn't let me, then noticed a name above it and a linkshell colour, my LS explained what it was all about. I ahd only been playign for 2 weeks (honest!!)
