Sorry if this is spam or stupid, I'm in a hurry! Mainly because I'm tired as hell.. ANYWAYS

My brother wants to make a character on FFXI, it'll be on MY account and everything, so it's as if I'm making a new character. I read somewhere that it costs $1 per character, is that true?

If you use the same id and the same account then yes... $1 usd will be the cost

Thanks, this can be closed now <__< sorry, my brother is rushing me and I'm tired.

I'll just tell him he can stick to WoW. I really don't want him playing on MY game when he'd never let me play one of his games if I asked him. He was like "you can play WoW if you want" but why would I play WoW when I have FFXI >.<

yes every extra content ID will cost you $1 per month.

yes and no. in order to be able to make character, you need to have a content ID. 1 character per content ID.
You can purchase more content ID in playonline viewer, the screen before you enter in to FFXI with the <Play> button, There's a manu "Content ID"

My husband and I ended up getting a second computer and a second game so that we could stop fighting over the game on just one computer. He had to start over with a new character (not like it was that big of a deal ... he was only level 21) but now we each have a main character and three mules.

I think that if we were to still only have one computer, we'd hate each other right now.

Don't forget that you can set a password on your PlayOnline login so that your brother can't log on while you're not around!

lol let him make a charecter but charge him $5 a mounth instead of $1 say its for the extra charecter or tell him to order his own game and expansions i hardly ever get to play with my brother around (god bless the xbox 360 and my laptop now i dont have to wait for him to get off )

You could have a total of 5 characters for yourself...
