Currently, I'm in the market for a SH. I'm on Asura and the average price for it is around 7mil-9mil. Just out of curiosity, what is the average time for building up this kind of money for you people. Please include Farming, BCNM, NM hunting, etc.. .whatever worked best for you. Thank you, Au Revoir.

Re: Scorpion Harness
My main income has been fishing+cooking. Lately I'm trying to get back to my original goal which was smithing, but will be a long time before I can actualy make money with it.
I would spend a day catching around 20 emperor fish to make them into roe > cavier. And then move to noble ladies. Post ToA patch, I can catch 20 emperor and up to 8 more stacks of lady in a day without hitting fatigue.
Those 2 fish in a day of fishing usually will be enough for up to 4-5 days of Sea Serphant grotto fishing, to make Tavnazian Taco.
3 hours in Sea Serphant Grotto a day net me around 30-40 grimmonites.
As you see, almost all fish I catch them myself so that leaves me with very little investment. For less than 10k worth of other materials a day, I can make up to 20 Stacks of Tavnazian Taco.
20 x 70k = more than a million.
Sometimes I got lazy to craft tho >< So I craft them over the course of couple days instead of do them all in 1.
The thing is, by the way, I enjoy fishing ^^ More so than the cooking part. I hate blacksole. Their bite rate makes it the least enjoyable fish to catch for me :xThere are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

Re: Scorpion Harness
Personally I have awful luck on BC's but crafting Sai-Rui ran (buying all materails from NPC and making the Bast Parchment from scratch) gives me around 500-750k profit for 2-3 hours of work. (approx 6-8 stacks of toolbags).
Then in between I hunt rams in La'Theine or Konschtat Highlands synthing skins -> leather as I go between pops, you can kill around 10-12 rams per hour with TH2 you get 0-6 skins per kill (usually 4+) 0-2 horns per kill (usually 1) and sometimes a cube of lanolin drops.
If taking the norm that gets us 10-12 horns and 40-48 skins.
Synthing a stack of leather cost (5000 + 144 + 265) 5408~ gil and sells for between 40-50k on my server, you can usually move 5-6 stacks per day without a problem in Sandy and Jeuno AH.
So I stay for around 1-1½ hours to make 6 stacks of leathers then I leave and list leathers + horns for around a 250k - 300k profit.
So I can make around a million a day without oversaturating the market so approx a weeks time to obtain 9-10 Million gil is perfectly doable if you mix in other stuff wtih the toolcrafting and ramhunting.Keep in mind, sig might be outdated I just update it a few times per week.
Signature with the usual levels and obtained stuff etc. . .814 Total levels and counting.. . . . .

Re: Scorpion Harness
Thanks, this will really come in handy."Oh, you ca'n't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're Mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be", said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Re: Scorpion Harness
Note that not all experiences will be the same and that, in a large number of examples, you will require a craft skill at a certain level to be able to reproduce these experiences.
In other words, a certain amount of investment of time is needed to get to the point where gil making becomes less of a chore and more of a part of your daily routine when you log into the game.
I'm not at that point yet, but I do so many odds and ends, here and there to get by. My source of income is not as consistent as others, but I'm working to get to that point. For example, I recently got a scroll of Water IV to drop and sold it for 900K. The next day, I had a couple of stacks of HQ roasted mushrooms to sell in addition to several stacks of NQ and those returned me at least 250K. So, the odds and ends definitely bring food to my table. It'll take a while to get something like 9 million gil saved up, but it's possible. Just requires a bit of patience, time and effort on your part. Oh ... and luck.
