What does EP and EM mean?

Regarding the LvL thing, you have confused me somewhat, but I think I am getting the picture........ only just, though not very well.

Easy Prey and Even Match.

What it means is that "Easy Prey" just means "this monster is between X and Y levels below your level."

EP = Easy Prey, DC = Decent Challenge, EM = Even Match. Those are the phrases the game uses when you /check a mob to tell you what the mob's level is compared to yours. Even Match means the target is the same level as you; Decent Challenge is up to 3 or so levels below you; Easy Prey is lower than that but still strong enough to give you experience.

My thief is level 20 right now and it's a really weak soloer. I find myself spending as much time resting as fighting. Before level 15 it's even worse, but at level 15 you gain the ability to open each fight with a Sneak Attack or a Blind Bolt to give you an edge in damage. At 24/25 you'll get Utsusemi if you're using nin sub and Bloody Bolts, which drain hp. From that point on I could see thf being a very powerful soloer.

Which parts are you finding confusing? Perhaps I can help to clearify some of it.

Okay, well I haven't read RIGHT the way through it, but to start off with, the NPC in Bastok markets sends you to (and correct me if I am wrong) a place called White Gate. Where exacty is that, and how do I get there?

whitegate is the new town in the expansion.

you need to have the expansion installed and registered to unlock pup.

i think you have to buy parts then pay an npc to upgrade the puppet every 10 lvs. but im not sure just what i read somewhere on here ill see if i can find the link

Frames, heads, attachments. They're like equipment that you use to build your puppet.

I've also just thought about something else in this new quest.

Once you go into the new areas of Arght Urghan..... won't you need to buy maps for the areas so that you know where you are going?

Having read over the quest now, it does mention a few of the new areas, and I'll need to know where to buy the maps from.

Can anyone help me with this please?

The maps for Al Zahbi, Nashmau, Wajaom Woodlands, and Bhaflau Thickets are sold from Riyadahf at I-10 in Whitegate. Other maps are attained from quests or purchased with Imperial Points.

Yes, I alreday know this bit, and I have just today installed the new expansion too, but what I mean is, how do I actually get to Whitegate from the Bastok Markets NPC where this quest starts?

I have noticed that there are 2 seperate boat rides in Selbina, and one of them goes to one of these new places in Aght Urghan. Do you think that this is the way to go to get to Whitegate? If not, then how do I get there please?

I think they're like Conquest Points except you get them when you have Imperial Sanction on instead of your nation's Signet. I'm sure they'll explain it to you when you get there.

Don't worry about TAU, you'd have a lot of problems trying to unlock the new jobs.


There's a lot for you to do still on the mainlands, trust me, you'll know when to head east.

What does TAU mean?
I wish people would write everything in full so it doesn't get confusing.

Also, since I have just installed the new expansion, I might as well get my money's worth out of it, and so I am still determined to at least have a go at getting this new Puppetmaster job. And if anything doesn't come out of it in the end, at least I can say I tried.

TAU and ToAU both refer to Treasures of Aht Urhgan, that expansion you just installed.
