Many of these names seem to be derived from the French language, such as Bostanieux, La Theine, Beaudecine, Jeuno, Ronfaure ... (pardon my spelling if any of these are wrong) ... etc. Since I took French in high school (way back when), that's how I tend to pronounce these places. My husband and I both play, so in RL we are often talking about in-game places. Oh, yeah, our kids are going to grow up to be geeks.

Our funniest one, I think, is we pronounce Xarcarbard (?) "Ex-ca-bard." Yeah, we went lazy on that one.

Since you took french in school and I assume you have a decent grasp of that, could you elaborate on how to explain how the -eux in french is pronounced for us that cannot use english phonetics (like me).

I can pronounce the -eux sound, but I cannot explain how it is pronounced for an english-speaking person

-eux would sound like a very relaxed 'errr' without any emphasis on any of the sounds.

Think teenagers who pretend to listen, and they give that 'err' noise when saying yeah.

If I was going to explain -eux to an english person, I'd ask him to say any word that ends with "er" out loud. Like "Cutter", it's the closest thing english has to the actual sound. There's still a slight difference, but yeah...

As for La Theine, I pronounce it La t-è-n. Describing the sound of è isn't easy to non-french speakers though. It's the same sound as "heh", minus the "h" sounds (they don't exist in french). It's also close to the sound of the "e" in "Exit"

Another valid possibility (in french) would be La Teyn.

Mhaura I say with an "H" sound, sort of like Muh-hor-uh, but the Muh-hor is pushed together.

I used to pronounce it Ex-ca-bard, too.

Both swedish and french has a so called soft "R" which doesn't exist in english, which makes explaning some sounds very very hard even when you stand in front of them in real-life. Basically since their head isn't wired to grasp how to make the sound it self.

Then the wovel sound in the french word for "nine" is another matter entirely for english-speaking people and I wont even try to explain that one

Croissant pretty much got to it before I could, that's about it. Of course, my French pronounciation is rather lacking, especially since I married a Mexican and I am constantly getting my French and Spanish confused. I probably sound like another stupid American trying to speak a foreign language.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Qufim Island heh.

I generally just look at the katakana for the name and go by that heh.

I pronounce Qufim like I would if there was, in fact, an "i" after the "u." So, "kwi - fim"

I prounouce Qufim as "Kay Fim" I wonder how Jeuno's pronounced:
Juno(as in the Roman Goddess) or Weigh-no(As in the Spanish word for Thursday)

Spanish Thursday is "jueves" (hway - vays) ... unless you were just saying that to make a comparison in pronounciation.
