my god i know how you feel, they didnt have it in any of my gameing shops for ages then i go into sainsburys and what do i find F.F 11 with both expansions that was a year ago, now that the final ones out i went to the shop on saterday and i raced for the shelf with the last copy in stock (thank god i set track record in college ) and im happily running it on my laptop though due to money problems i dont have a control or access to my reguler account so im useing my back up 360 account right now.

that logitech keyboard is for ps2 only

plus i had one it broke within a few months.. same thing happened to many others


thats why the price droped from like $50 to $15 for it in less then a year

The best controller for PC is: Don't buy a crappy PC gamepad.

Just get one of these:

USB PS2 Controller Adapter

10 bucks and you can use the best gamepad ever crafted by the hands of man or beast (the PS2 Controller) on your PC.

I've been trying to figure out what controller to get for my PC for the longest time. This looks like it'll do nicely~ ^_^

i hate to say this since im a huge PS2 fan and i have owned that poor excuse for a keyboard controler that sony relised but i have to go with tetsuol on this one, now can we get bk on subject on how hard it was to get the game

Just as a quick comment, I work at an EB Games store in Canada. Aside from the 360 version of the game (which includes all expansions), and the copies of TOAU that we are still getting new, it seems that the game is being phased out. We no longer carry any PS2 HHDs (haven't in well over a year), any previous expansions for PS2 (discontinued new, acctually), or even the gold edition (includes all versions up to and including CoP). Its kind of sad to see, and I can understand someone who is getting easily frustrated by a lack of availability. Weird thing about it though, is that I get asked about starting up FFXI for PS2 or PC at least 3-4 times every week, and I only work about 2-3 shifts (keep in mind I live in a moderatly sized Canadian city at best).

Ugh, well you know how excited I was to get FFXI? So I go to the game store (the biggest one out of the downtown area), and they don't have it. So I'm like "well I saw on the online store that there's a Final Fantasy XI game that has the first game and two expansions, do you have that one?", and what did he say? "Sorry but we don't have the first game" so I replied "Not just the first one, it's a new one I think that has the first game AND two expansions

Know how you felt. When I went to Gamestop the guy behind the counter says hes never heard of ToAu. So I go online and in five minets ordered it had it 2 days later.

im sure i mentioned this before in another post.. but i have a horrible ffxi buying experiance too


when ffxi very 1st came out for ps2 with the HDD. i had one reserved at gamestop

when i got it the box was opened. but they said all the boxes are opend thats there policy or w.e..

so i got home installed HDD tryed to register.. and the registry codes were USED

Gamestop refused to give me another as i had opened and installed it already even tho it was THEM who stole the codes

so anyway i had to buy the PC version just to register my ps2 version.. SAME THING HAPPENED the pc version had been pre opened and used and once again gamestop refused to exchange it.. so i went to EB games SAME THING AGAIN

FINALLY i went to Walmart and got a UNOPENED ffxi for PC it worked..


after this situation happened i learned a important lesson... never buy PC games at a store that opens them before they sell them to you. cause all it takes is 1 bad employee to steal the registration codes

It was sold out today, they shop owners didn't understand why since it isn't a new game.

So I used my best friend, internet =) Amazon.ca had it of course, it'll be at my house wednesday the latest... they usually only take 2 days so probably monday... wish it was tomorrow though =P

I live in the most populated city in Canada. Hurray hurray, we get twice the polution =/


I guess everyone is just buying the games online, I bought it on amazon last night, and I can't wait to get it^^

I'd have to agree about the logitech keyboard. Although compact and lightweight in my opinion it isn't a very good quality product. I've gone through two already, they wear out pretty fast while playing FFXI. After a while you'll notice that the key start to stick and/or don't work. Standard PC keyboards last much longer than the logitech one for PS2 so I'd recommend just buying a non-logitech keyboard. I'd have a lot more to say about my opinions of Logitech products, but I'll leave it before too many people begin disagreeing with me.

As for the game I remember seeing it on the store shelves in a best buy once for almost a full two years before I think they finally took it off the shelves for PS2. I think they still have it on the shelves for PC though.

Wow, I remember when I was trying to get my FFXI copy for PC... Me and my dad went on a wild goose chance, continually getting reffered to visit other stores... then we found one(about 1 hours away from our house) that had it! I shelled out my money, we drove home, I installed it, had a hugs grin on my face...

And then...

It happened.

Remember when all those registation codes where stolen and used? I got one of those codes with my game >.>

To the op, Im excited too! Its been 2 years since I even played but I'm already addicted lmao. Just 2 weeks left! /hurray. And enjoy the game, it's one of my fav's. Don't get discouraged in the beginning, after a few weeks (or less if you make friends!) you'll start having dreams about it. /em takes his riddelin......

I've gotten the game and installed everything, FFXI is just updating now.

This will be fun^^ I didn't know FFXI was windowed
