I'm an Alla refugee as well. Not so much because it's in bed with IGE, but because...well...it's terrible there. Let's be honest.

I really like to format so far, and I'm lovin' the quote about correct punctuation. Is it so hard to type '.' '?' and '!'?

I, for one, am able to do a RDM guide, and I'm sure of at least 15+ other RDMs on this forum that will assist.

I second that emotion. Hit me up with whatever sort of PM system this forum has if you need any input.

Regardless, I've never known how to do wiki's, so I've left them alone. I'm sure that a few people can make an honest effort to create comprehensive guides tho.

Same, html coding and I don't get along. I would be more than happy to provide what personal experience as well as advice I've gleaned from others during my experience as a rng. Just let me know.

I implore all users!! Follow PiNG's advice to the letter!

We used to have wiki setup and linked from the main page... but the wiki didn't take off, as it was already too late to start one, wiki was up and running for a while until people just decided to link to other wiki sites. So at the end I ended up unlinking it, and linking "galleries" to the spot.

If anyone is up for wiki challege.. it's over at: http://wiki.ffxionline.com , other than that, right now, some of the moderators are working to get articles up... it's really hard trying to catch up after 3 years of absence. but we'll try

Wiki boards are not exactly like HTML coding, it's close to it in some respects but not the same thing. That section you posted about Neighbortaru which BRP neglected looks like a great idea if we do start up a wiki section again.

For me the three sources I've ever used is:

Somepage
Mysterytour
Ffxiclopedia

They've had nearly everything I needed except when I wanted to get the Hamayumi (Demon Bow). None of them even had listed the "Recollection of Suffering", which is the trade in item you need to get the bow. Actually found that info I needed from a Japanese site which gave me in detail everything I needed to get that drop.

Been working on bribing people to go, I use the Promyvion zones a lot for farming and junk and a bow like that one should work wonders in the lv. 30 Promy zones.

you can subscribe to a thread from one of the drop down menus on top of the thread.

I have found that gmail is the easiest way to keep track of threads I have posted in. If you kept your settings as default when you registered. FFXIOnline will send you an email anytime someone posts in that thread. I find gmail to be the best option for the email to use for this. Since it keeps all of the emails about each thread together. So you don't get spammed with tons of individual emails for each thread. ^^

Yes, like neighbortaru said. Also in the "My Settings" up top the choice "My Profile" has two links that allows you to see a quick preview of every post you've made or lists out every thread you've started.

Not being able to access a large database is a small price to pay from not supporting the gilsellers, in my opinion.

And this site looks great with the theme I'm using in Firefox ^^

I was never a big fan of Alla's community anyway, so I'm glad to see a common exodus away from there.

I've already replaced my Alla bookmark with FFXIOnline.com.

And as most people have stated, Forums are great for discussion mostly - there's various other resources around the web for item/quest databases that have always surpassed Alla as a resource.

Well anyway, I'm hoping to see more people from Carbuncle and the Monk forums over there come across and to actually get involved with some of the guides/stickies. I've been around too long not to deposit some of my knowledge.
