You don't need windower to run fraps. You don't even need fraps to take screenshots.

That said, wtf is the deal with anytime someone comes on here and says something with no screenshots to back it up they're automatically a liar? Should I start running fraps in the background all the time just in case something bad happens to me? I'm just hope you're never the deciding member on a jury.

Well, if you read several posts below yours, apparently the OP *can* take SSs. And is running FRAPs.

FRAPs can be run when Microsoft Windows starts up. There's an option (I'm quite sure this is set by default, actually, but someone can go prove me wrong) in FRAPs to set this.

Also you will notice no performance degradation with running FRAPs. I mean, if you do, then quit playing FFXI now and go get a better PC or more memory because you're barely running FFXI at all ...



Also, you have an in-game option to take a SS. Use it. It's there. Even w/o chat overlays, as Kailea-D says, "it's really better than nothing."

Using your own twisted logic, it's like saying you saw the hit-and-run driver make a getaway, but when asked for the car make and licence number, you're like ... "uhh ... dunno?"

i dont see anyone puting there wallet on the ground and walking away by seeing my warning about one particulare dumb GM who i obviously am not the only one who has had a run in with him

I have this rule I try to enforce on myself about not posting whenever I want to rip some idiot's throat out with my teeth. I always start typing the flame, and then when I start typing something that's way beyond the bounds of good taste, I Ctrl+A, Ctrl-X and paste it into a text file until I can phrase my response more coolly or just absolve myself of the conversation entirely. Consequently, I have this series of text files on my desktop named Aeni.txt, Aeni2.txt, Aeni3.txt ...

Alright, so I probably shouldn't piggyback like that.

Anyways, a lot of people are having trouble with GMs, and sometimes it gets suspicious. There's never enough information to make a good opinion, and it always ends up being a string of problems resulting from and caused by both sides. He without sin shall cast the first stone, amirite?

I didn't really check in on this topic for a while...

I was stating a simple fact; Something doesn't add up here. I do not have enough information to tell where the problem is. It could be Tetsuol wanting attention. It could be those JPs being...um...let's just say "mentally unbalanced". It could be that the GM is coruppt. I don't know.

I will say, however, that from talks with some old linkshell members... In every case where people were MPKed (as in, actually died) by AoE, the GMs would either warn the player that killed the others, if they were obviously doing it on purpose. If the GM did not have enough proof, he/she would usually tell the people that died that they needed to be more observant of their surroundings.

This was back when gilsellers first started popping up, and it was pretty obvious who was a gilseller and who wasn't... (It still is, if you watch what zones they go to for a day. But it's usually too much effort to be worth bothering with.) They might have gotten more strict on MPK rules lately. I honestly don't know. I've never been GMed for anything.
(The worst thing I've done is force a gilseller to flee from a zone with invincible on because he pissed me off. He didn't even need invincible either. He was standing right next to the zone...and it was only 10...or so... too weaks vs a level 75PLD at full HP. I never got to abuse the SMN's ability to MPK more than that time before they made that anti-MPK patch a while ago. Anyway...that's off-topic.)

I do know, however, that GMs will take note if you do things like warn the party of your actions before they do it. If you said that you were going to fight the worms and they need to take care to watch for AoE, then it really wouldn't be MPK any more than a party camping on top of your party in the jungle and your goblin doing a suicide bomb that killed them...

But here we get back to the fishy part. You can't really MPK with worms... If your story is true, then that GM would be breaking some serious rules... I don't think that they'd be able to last long.

A word of advice though. Try to keep your temper better, at least in those situations. As many people have said, your attitude can help determine how they judge you, even if you feel that you're are being unjustly jailed.

my comments basicly mean that he could have avoided this buy take SS and talking calmly to the GM, and summoning anther right way, and he did not do that

Oh, now I'm an idiot, huh? Never once did I say in this thread that the OP outright lied. It could be a series of events where some things were purposely left unsaid to better one's position in a situation. If you want the complete story, maybe we should contact the players who were involved in this "MPK accussation?" That's ... what, 6 other players?

Here's what I had problems with:

(1) First of all, OP says specifically "JP Players." Last time I checked, if a JP player calls a GM, he gets a JP GM. Since when was JCBlue a JP GM? Hmmm...?

(2) No indication on where exactly this is taking place (What part of Qufim? There's several places where you'd fight worms ... and places where you can fight worms w/o obstructing exp for the players in the high teens/low 20s). On what had occurred before this incident took place. Note the vagueness of the whole thing. For example, even if I was just 100 tnl from 30, if there's a party at a camp, I don't just go and camp on them and think that it's all cool because I'm only 100 tnl ...

To OP: What do you mean by not this again? Has this happened to you before? Is this not your first time, yet you seem to make me think you've had similar incidents before. Please elaborate.

(4) Common sense should already tell you at this point ... why wasn't the GM called by the OP? Anyone else here ... I think about the majority of the readers ... will feel so "kimochi warui" or uncomfortable.

To OP: Instead of just doing what you did (Curing them only makes the incident worse, not better, because to the GM, they think you're doing it on purpose and not seeing that the other guys are the ones to blame) why didn't you call the GM? I would. I think that's a form of player harassment, correct? That is specifically mentioned in the user agreement which you yourself signed (or agreed to electronically) when you registered your account for the first time. The abiding by the agreement - in fact - basically says that you are also responsible for contacting the GM or SE in the event that these (harassment etal) incidents or wrongdoing was committed against you.

If you were raped, are you just going to keep quiet about it or will you go to the police?
