Yeah, tossing definatly 0's out the timer. The thing the guy was poking at was my previous statement of the bands when recharged would 0 out the timer. It use to do that, if it doesn't now it's likely a result of the update done since I made that statement.

That statement made was well before the update and Treasures of Aht Urhgan was released. Since then SE could of easily done an update that changed that statement. Which I why I stress the date, for MMORPGs looking at the dates on statements made is part of a big deal. Many statements don't always hold true as time passes and updates occured.

Eventually tossing the band and getting a new one to 0 out the timer might not work anymore. It'll make these statement dated and incorrect when that happens, so biggest thing to pay attention to is DATE, DATE, DATE!!

      Re: ring recharges

It is very unlikely that S-E will make buying a new ring not reset the timer.

Timed items all use independent timers; you can buy 5 Warp Clubs, use each of them, and they'll each remember their recharge timers separately. The timers aren't tracked to your character, but to that specific item. There's no reason to suspect that S-E will make the rings break this behavior, especially since you're paying a premium in CP to do so.

        Re: ring recharges

Two weeks ago, I was able to get a freshly charged empress band after usng it. I tried Sunday and it didn't reset the timer. I've come to the conclusion that the band must not have any charges left on it for the timer to get reset. It was empty 2 weeks ago, but not last Sunday.

So, try to empty out your bands before recharging them.

        Title: Sergeant Major

I'm well aware of that, it's because the timer is a property of the new object. As such the new object though spawned from a class project won't carry over properties from previous objects unless specifically told to do so. So yes the design works that way now, and your idea of it staying that way makes a lot of sense. My posts direction of the statement is that what we think and how SE thinks isn't always going to be the same, nor is the statements made going to always be absolute.

If at any point SE decides that people dropping the band to refresh it is giving to much of an advantage, then they could easily decide to drop the CP price of the band to 700 and then force the timer count to carry over even on the new purchased band. All a point of view of how one group thinks it should be vs. another.

The major point to my post was pay attention to the date of a statement made, if the date is to old the statement may no longer be as true. In some cases though it's simply that the person is still gowing by old knowledge, that case it's their fault if they make a bad statement.

My ring was not completely empty when I recharged it.

I pay attention to the date of posts, but I don't generally expect subtle behaviors of various game features to change, especially when they seem to be "by design". It's nice to have updated information when these ubiquitous behaviors change, though--thus my post. ^^
