FFXI expansion shortage?

I have never had this much trouble finding an FFXI expansion in store before since the release of FFXI in NA. Every store within 60 mile from where I live sold out. Why is it suddently everyone and their brothers and their sisters and their mother in law want to play the game now?

The grind is still there, it's till take you a week to get party, nothing has changed for odin's sake. Grrrr.

There were no available copies at my Gamestop for anyone who did not preorder, so if you didn't, you may be out of luck for a week or so, unless you can find it at other retail stores like BestBuy or Walmart.

I preordered...luckily. My store only recieved two PS2, two PC, and 2 Xbox360 copies. I'm sure there will be more come the weekend, since these were same day delivery, but still.

Start Pre-ordering for everything!!!

I think they got six copies of PC version at GS today, 3 reserves.

20 360 versions, 9 reserves.

The game is still popular, and I'm my local GS isn't a representation of all retail outlets, but for a release like this most of the time the volume isnt much higher than the reservce. Try checking Best Buy or Circuit City.

People think that WoW killed this game.... FFXI is a VERY well established community with a very cult-based fan base. It will be like for for years to come.. I am not surprised

I finally was able to get my hands on the 360 and the PC expansion an hour ago. I went to Best Buy and the rep said they didn't expect it until tomorrow...which was weird to me. I wish I could find a Vana'diel Collection because I still don't have the COP expansion for computer. I will just order it online though, then reinstall it to my computer with the new expansion.

In the mean time, I have my 360 version finally ^^



But yes, it have been rather bothersome trying to get my hands on these two copies.
