  • A question about rank 10 flags and their moghancements.

Does anybody know if increasing the element effect in your mog house would increase the amount of CP gained? Like if I were to shove a bunch of fire elemental furnature into my mog house, would it do anything for the San d'orian flag's effect?

Aside from being enormously expensive, I have no idea. I do know that even the base level of Moghancement: Conquest provides a very hefty boost to earned CP ( never really paid attention to the exact amount, but it's very noticeable - at least +25% if I recall ).

The main problem is getting enough element points to boost the power above Faint.

Also note that Moghancement: Conquest provided by each flag is specific to its city - you cannot use Moghancement: Bastokan Conquest while your allegiance is to Windurst. It'll show up, but it does nothing for you, since you aren't earning CP for Bastok.

I'm pure San d'orian since we got Sarutabaruta outpost... I don't want to switch nations and lose all my outposts. (I have all but gustaberg now. Not that I need it... Teleport-Altep -> escape.)

I just started wondering because I'm looking at skilling up on furnature on that "happy" 72-80 level woodworking, and scimitar cactus has fire elemental properies to it...along with the san d'orian flag.

I suppose I could test it for myself some time. Kill 50 EPs on SMN in a zone, mark down the exp made, then change the potency of the moghancement-fire and go back to the same zone and kill the same monsters.

Wouldn't be as much CP gained as an exp party...but it'd be easier to keep track of, I think.

Re: A question about rank 10 flags and their moghancements.

I just recently hit Rank 10, and I hung my Flag on the wall and it gave me Mogenhancement: Fishing. Now I have a lotta items that gives ST+ in my MH and all of them have a Water Element, so my MH is bursting with Water energy. Helps out big time with all the Alchemy skilling I do, and hurts big time when I try for Smithing Skill Ups.

So now the question is, does your current element of your MH completely change what your flag gives you? As I recall, my Mogenhancement was Gardening, now it's fishing. I haven't even attempted to Fish since I came back in August!

          http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/furniture.php
Which Moghancement you receive is entirely based on the furniture on display in your Mog House, and the dominant energy that it provides. Looking again at the Cupboard shows us that this furniture item will provide the Fire moghancement when placed on display in the Mog House. It also has the Fire element on it. So, if a character places just this piece of furniture in his Mog House, he will get a message from his Moogle that the Mog House has "faint fire energy"; he will also receive the Fire Moghancement key item. As long as the furniture is not changed, the character will always have that Moghancement on him, no matter where he goes. Removing the Cupboard will remove the Moghancement as well, of course.

If the character keeps the Cupboard in his Mog House but adds other furniture, the element and Moghancement can change. Let's say that he gets 3 Armor Box and displays them in his Mog House as well. They each provide 2 strength of Water element, which means that there would be 6 Water and 6 Fire element in his Mog House. When there is no dominant element, it's too confusing to obtain anything; the character wouldn't receive any Moghancement at all, since there isn't a dominant element. If he added one more Armor Box, for a total of 4 Armor Boxes and 1 Cupboard, there would now be a dominant Water element (8 Water and 6 Fire element total.) The Armor Box provides the Fishing Moghancement, so the character would now receive that instead of the Moghancement: Fire.

When a character has different pieces of furniture that are based on the same element but provide different Moghancements, the Moghancement given is based on the furniture item that has the largest Element Strength. For example, if a character has 5 Tarutaru Stool items placed in his Mog House, he will receive the Desynthesis Moghancement. If a single Tableware Set is added, the Moghancement will change to Lightning. This is because the Tableware Set has 3 Element Strength, and each of the Tarutaru Stools only have 2. No matter how many more Tarutaru Stools are placed in the Mog House, the Lightning Moghancement will always be provided by the Tableware Set, since it has a higher Element Strength.

Tirrock - If you desperately want Overwhelming Fire-synth Moghancement, placing 18 Cupboards (Available from Justi's Furniture Shop in North Sandy) in your house will do the trick. The only downside to this is that they're EX - and thus, unsellable to other players.

There are also some non-EX furnishings you can pick up at the AH for a bit more, and then just sell them back when you're done. I'm not exactly sure how many you would need, but I would suspect 15 as a minimum.
