Customers Who Plan to Purchase "Treasures of Aht Urhgan"

The following is information for those customers who are planning to purchase "Treasures of Aht Urhgan," which is scheduled to be released on April 18, 2006.

"Treasures of Aht Urhgan" is an expansion disc that will contain many new features including new jobs and areas. Service is scheduled to begin worldwide on April 19, 2006. Until then, the new features will be inaccessible even if both installation and contents registration are complete.

You will also be required to complete the contents registration before playing "Treasures of Aht Urhgan." Both PlayOnline ID and PlayOnline password are required for the contents registration.

We suggest that you have both your PlayOnline ID and PlayOnline password ready for registration. In case you forgot them, please follow this procedure:

Please check the member list under the login menu of PlayOnline Viewer.

Please contact the PlayOnline Information Center.

*CAUTION*

Unfortunately so... Well, atleast this is a step in the right direction, having *all* clients beable to access the content at once. We still get an oh-so-minor advantage though, if you can call it that, in how we have 2 days to get the game, and not just one.

Ferserious, went to 2ch one day, and there was an 800 post thread there on "woe is me, Mr. JP," and the photo II'ers were shown the JP button, and started going on about how NA are treated better than the JP. I guess SE customer relations just sucks all 'round.

And I agree... this in response to the outcry over them giving JPs access for a week before which seemed to justify people accusing SE of JP favoritism.

Honestly though people... from looking at all the info coming out and people breaking down the .dat files this expansion looks to reinvigorate FFXI that CoP failed at and that says something cause Im typically the cynical opinion.

The only thing I am concerned about are the job changes. People are building up unreasonable expectations on the vague descrpitions that were released. I am not looking forward to the 20 paragraph threads across multiple forums from people saying how SE has betrayed them, ruined their job, made them quit... whine whine whine...

I 100% agree. After all the info we've been given over the past few months, it almost feels like when the expansion is released, they're going to be reinventing the game. SE's seems to be focusing on genuinely fixing the things that make this game unbearable at times. Few examples...

BLU: Duh

Assault: Content geared towards small groups of people rather than the 18 person Zerg situations they've been focusing on in the past

Job adjustments: SE finally recognized the short comings of certain jobs and imbalances of others and seem to be making a sincere attempt to fix it

Equipment: All the new equipment listed in another thread. Possibly more options for a wider style of gameplay?

On topic: I think it's bullshyt they even bothered releasing it on the 18th in America if we can't use it til the 20th. I had briefly thought at least we'd get a jump on patching it, but I doubt they'll implement that into the servers until they have to. Probably in the middle of the night on the 19th.

They probably learned from the mistake they did with COP.

The point of releasing it earlier on the US, is probably because of the time zone crap...

Anyway, i think its cool you guys get to go through the patches 2 days before JP by the time your done, the JP will be trying to patch, and then.. HELL BREAKS FREE! D:

That migth also be it, that way not everyone in the world will be patching at the same time, its kinda clever ;p

Wow. Its funny how they cry and then get there way. Come on, its only 2 days, not a month! They get systems/games over there mostly a year before we get them and if we cry about it, they can care less. I wont get the expansion then till another month or so then. Not worth logging in to a flood of people and crazy prices for equipment thats not worth the gil. Its funny we finally get a break and opps, people cry and we retract what we are doing. Sorry about the rant, just was looking forward to getting a head start for once.

Yeah, everything except a Euro-acknowledged server. This expansion is too little too late for me sadly. I cancelled my account and deleted my content IDs last weekend. Played since NA launch and spent the last two plus years struggling to enjoy even 50% of the game the NA and JP customers receive and I finally decided enough was enough.

Uhmm The reason it will hit the US on the 18th is because pretty much all video games and dvds are released on Tuesdays. The few that are not are pushed to the following Tuesday by the retailers anyways. Hence the phrase "DVD Tuesday." It is a supply management issue. Go look and see when the 20th falls. I'm pretty sure there would be lots of whining if you didn't get to play ToAU for nearly a week afterwards like CoP.

The date difference between US and JP release has nothing to do with favoring either "side." It is simply the closest dates SE can publish and still make sure everyone can buy it in time for the 20th kickoff.
