I wake up.. I go to work.. i play with my Kid.. I hang out with friends.. I play FFXI...

on Patch Day i'll do everything above...then Ill play it two days later.. Whoope I get it first

I still have a whole mess of real world things to do anyway, so no biggie..

I wish people would realize the game isnt going anywhere.. just play it when you can.. As my LS can tell you My actual play time sucks.. But I still manage to lead them, get things I need done,done and still enjoy FFXI.

Just enjoy what you have and dont forget your friends and family, work and school

SE can't please everybody all the time, but they can please most of us most of the time.

Roughly translated, the JP and NA players are ok, who gives a shit about you guys. The standard response I get from NA players whenever this situation arises. Or the, "Omg if you hate the game so much quit and play another!!!" response that fails to acknowledge I don't actually hate the game only that I wish I could play it with people on my timezone and enjoy it as much as the JP and NA customers do.

Aeni, one of the big problems is that Sony never released the hard drive for the PS2 in Europe and as a result FFXI never had a PS2 launch here, only PC format. That had a massive impact on attracting potentially new players. However, despite numerous e-mails to them with suggestions they at least flag a server as Euro-preferred or allow one time character transfers to Europeans to a server with a decently sized community the response has always been the same from S-E... silence. So, the subscription they'd been receiving from me since October 2003 ended last weekend. May only be one fee but most of the Euros I've known and met over the years have since quit as well. It's a shame when a company fails an entire player demographic.

who ever said that the servers are held in JP is half correct...I can greatly remmeber a press report after the NA beta that they had opened 3-5(not sure which) servers in California. plus I know for sure that Atmos is held in SE headquarters in LA.

also its true that most digital media porducts are realsed on tuesdays....although that is true...from what ive been told from the manager of my local EBgames...they are only getting the shipment on tuesday, and stocking it on wedsday(canadian realsese BTW) but he says this i the same for all of NA(hes the povincial manager) and that its only the website that is sending it on the tuesday.

Well.....next time instead of saying Euro-acknowledged server, say I would like a server where I can play with others durring the time I play. pluss the whole time thing is really a personal problem, there is nothing saying you cant make friends with NA or JP players, try comunicateing and acualy play the game -.-

Oh dear, someone's been at the stupid assumption gas again.

I have NA and JP friends, however, that doesn't help the issue with not having enough Euro timezone people to achieve anything of note in the game. However friendly people are you'll find the JP stick to JP HNM LS's and the same for NA players. While they may play during the day sometimes they will nearly always raid with established shells. No JP or NA I met was willing to sacrifice their existing DKP and form a new shell or go into Dynamis once or twice on Euro times and thus being unable to do so with an NA shell till three days later. The other fun option is to give up my day job and hope I could get in a JP LS or start playing at midnight through to 7am on weekdays so I can join an NA LS. Any more genius suggestions?

"Treasures of Aht Urhgan" is an expansion disc that will contain many new features including new jobs and areas. Service is scheduled to begin worldwide on April 20, 2006. Until then, the new features will be inaccessible even if both installation and contents registration are complete.

That's just not true. There are several Germans in my main LS and, although not in *my* Dynamis LS, the fact that one of them has a valor surcoat makes it pretty clear that he's in *some* Dynamis LS. (In fact, I happen to know which, and it's a mostly NA LS.) Now, those players *do* speak English as well as German, and I'm not saying that isn't important to their ability to work with NA LS's, but there isn't some big "Dogs and Europeans not allowed" sign on the clubhouse or something.

Furthermore, some NA Dynamis LS do afternoon runs on weekends - which translates to early evening in UTC - so you could do at least one run a week even if you're tied to a particular schedule of day job.

As for HNMs, regardless of what time zone you're in, you do them on *their* schedule, or you don't do them. That's just the way they're designed.

And new HNMLS and Dynamis LS are forming practically constantly on Carbuncle - I'd expect that of any server that isn't dying.


In short, if you're willing to make some effort to solve your scheduling problems, they are solvable. If you'd prefer to whine about how everyone hates you and then quit - well, don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out, then.

Or how about 8am on the 19th, which would corrisopond to... dun dun dun... 0:00 20th of April, JST. Or is it 7am pst? I can never tell with daylight savings time. Anyhow, its one of those two that is ground zero on the 20th for japan.

And if thats the case, I say we get the better deal, cause thats about when I wake up in the morning XD

Hey Karinya, that'd be peachy if I was on your server but as my sig clearly states I was on Fenrir. Thanks for taking the time to post a response that had no relevance to my situation though.

As I said in earlier posts, there are no doubt some Euros who can play at ridiculous times in order to get their fix but I don't intend to stay up till the early hours just to play a game that caters to JP and NA only.
