btw, won't work. they specifically say that any characters deleted during the campaign period is not elligable (though you can use the regular, 1-time-only restore method).

The GM did his job perfectly fine. He pointed out that it wouldn't be tolerated and you argued with him. Why? SE owns this game and if they say it won't be tolerated, then it won't. At the end of last year, I asked a Developer for the game if we would ever be able to change our name. I also asked about changing the sex of your character. The answer came back with a resounding absolute without a shadow of a doubt, NO! So move on and live with it. Why would you want to change your name anways? Get in trouble with someone? Bad rep? Don't feel like being "sweet" anymore?

Yea true... I didn't choose this name myself though. Not worried about it for a long while.. and always thought "Jeez, i'm this far now, i'm not gonna start over!" Even at level 30 :S ... but I wish i'd have had started over then. >.<

2. GM's are not "SE." They're just mere employees who sit in their offices all day waiting for dumb GM Calls with dumb questions like mine, in the meantime eating out of their nose. Which is also a good reason why he would have a shitday.

Why would you want to change your name anways? Get in trouble with someone? Bad rep? Don't feel like being "sweet" anymore?

TheGrandMom never said the GMs where SE, we all kow htat by now -.- she said that SE owns the gaem, and the GMs have to go by what SE tells them to do, like I had to go by what dell said when I worded in a call center. GMs are doing their job like everyone else around here, get over it, deal with it, and stop complaining.

Ok lets look at the conversation, you get the GM and tell him that you want to change your name and you propose a way to change it. The GM says that there are no exceptions to the policy and if you use the method you mentioned you could possibly be suspended for doing so. He even explains he doesn't understand why it is that way but he's only doing his job. So far, not any attitude that I can see. So now what should happen at this point? You should have said, "Dang..thanks for your time. I think that it blows that you can't do this though." And it should have ended there. The GM told you no you can't and no he can't give you an exact reason, he's only telling you as he is instructed to.

But you pressed the issue and that would annoy anyone. The proper procedure would have been to say "Can I speak to someone over you then? A supervisor? SGM? Anyone? Because I would like to know more about this." Then maybe you would have gotten a better understanding/explanation to your questions.

Just because your on the defensive, doesn't mean that everything said is a jab to you. So get over it, those were the only reasons that I could think of for wanting to change your name. I don't see anything wrong with the name. FYI, TheGrandMom = Female so I'm not a "dude", I'm a dudette.

I find it funny that most of the people that post about the GM being a jerk.....and in the end its the poster.... heh anyway, yeah the other GMs that "said somethign diffrent" probebly did not look in their books like they where supost to, and is why you got a diffrent answer from this one, doing what you wanted to do is abuseing the system, and is against the ToS, dont get smart with us just because you are not hearing what you want.

The other GM's "probably" not looking in their books? That's an estimate, kiddo. Besides, if of all GM Calls only 1 is being like this, the fact that he's a jerk might sound more like it. In addtion, the reactions on this thread "Oh i know that GM.. hes always like that." and "it sounded like they were suggesting I do this.." make that a little more obvious. Also, you smart person, one of the main issues was that it never said it was against the ToS. Only because this 9 to 5-lifer says something, which contradicts the other GM's, doesn't make it forbbiden to ask where it says so that it's forbidden to do with this Campaign.
