    What kind of changes did they make to Banish? I only remember it sucking back in the day. Don't recall seeing someone cast it lately.

    Btw, arcadia, how did you manage to get -gil?

      on sky there are every type of elemetals at any given time staying around their own area.
      dark elemental is harder to solo/duo since they can't be slept : /
      I used to farm a lot of wind and thunder up there while waiting for my sky LS events.

      banish as I hear remove the pirecing resistance on undeads for a short duration of time and also lower their defense.
      I have damage done by PT turned off most of the time so I can't tell for sure.
      But a lot of PT I got in really like someone to cast banish for dogs and ghosts specificly.
      There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
      but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
      transform a yellow spot into the sun.

        EDIT: Just realized the elemental farming wouldn't make sense unless they were dark elementals....and I don't think there is dark weather in sky. I'm gonna have to put more thought into my bull crappery next time
        Sky has every elemental 24/7, regardless of weather. Just have to find the appropriate island.
        What kind of changes did they make to Banish?
        They upped its damage signifigantly. Against undead my dmg ratio per mp spent can rival that of blms. Only problem is we don't have big enough nukes. If they released banishga 3 and banish 4 you would see whm cannons in krt. As it stands now a whm can make a fair DD spamming nukes in krt, but can't do the huge damage chunks like blm. My best so far was a 780 banish 3 mb on a skele in krt. Average 500-550 banish3 without mb.

          I didn't know that about the elementals. Thats good to know anyway. How does that affect xp situations? Since they aggro magic and tend to roam very large areas. Make it hard to find safe places to cast? Is it something you have to continually watch out for?

          Wow, I'll say they upped the damage on Banish. One of the only times I've ever seen Banish cast was a year or two ago, for far less damage than I do in one attack. (Possible Banishga 3 and Banish 4 meritable?)

            Considering the comments about whm in the job changes announcement, they want to keep whm focused on being the best healer possible, so higher level Banish spells probably aren't at the top of any to-do lists. Not saying it's impossible.

              It works pretty well as a debuff on skellies. I did not notice too much of a difference on ghosts, however. But, you also need to realize that much of the testing was done with Banish III and not any of the -ga or lower tier spells. I think it was because the difference was too subtle to draw up conclusions, but with Banish III, you could actually see the difference come into play.

                I have no idea! Something is wrong with my gil system. Before it read that I had around 12,000 in bank and 3,600 in pocket. I repeatedly tried depositing what I had into the bank, but it wouldn't work. Before you know it, I have negative gil and there's 10,000 gil in my bank. What the hell is going on? ; ; could ping compensate me? >.>

                  Not really. They are in specific locations on the island. The only place people exp there is near the entrance at lvl 65 against the birds or inside the actual tower where there are no elementals. Thus, they are only an issue if you foolishly cast magic while wandering around the outside areas of sky.

                  Banish spells cause a defence down. The effect is more apparent on ghosts with such high defence. That is why you commonly see mnks in krt parties begging the whm to cast banish on ghosts.

                      There is a very long delay on withdraws and deposits before they show. Sometimes they don't go through. I've never had money just vanish though.

                        lol. this is awesome. I'm in debt 1k gil. Oh noes! I wonder what the mods do if you owe them gil and don't pay it off....

                        lol that doesn't explain how it wouldn't even allow me to deposit the money I have in my pocket. It seems as though "depositing" money had a negative effect on me. Not only did it deposit more money than I had into my bank, but it stole money from my bank. Ping must have a grudge with me. Damn this is weird....

                          It usually won't let you deposit your max money. I can only deposit about 90% of what I have on me. I think your problem comes from trying to deposit too many times before the server can catch. I try at most once every couple minutes, refreshing the bank page several times to see if the change loaded.

                              indeed. thats why I only tried to deposit 3k, even though my total was 3.5k. I also refreshed the page a couple times after I attempted to deposit the money and I got the same numbers.

                              Well, at least I made a record for the poorest member of FF11 online. FTW!!! I'd better stop posting so I can stay at this low low number of -1615.
