I would like to know what spells both balck and white, did you guys not use that often in endgame. I am sure one or two people here will find a good way to implement some forotten spells on certain situations.

For my specific case... as a summoner... i DONT USE AT ALL

Deodorize - i personally think its usesless overall, correct me if im wrong.
    Paralyze
    Slow
    Banish I
    Dia I

    Any comments?

Well. you got me with Dia... ok i COULD use that... but i dont for the following reasons....

I play on ps2, and a always see the mobs late after pawned. As a smn when we are camping im usually blocking the well known botters with carby. The other than that i could use dia.. but besides claiming.... dia would be terrible to cast on a wyrm if you need to sleep... not that we will sleep him at the start.

But my main question or the purpose of my thread is spells we can USE.. imo casting dis for claming well meh

yea but hes obviously subs whm. a smn doesnt deodorize, para, slow, banish either...

deodorize is only good for trying to loose aggro when you have some mobs on your tail. sort why when you run thru water, crawlers stop chasing you b/c it apparently deodorizes you when you run thru water. same concept, but when you have aggro you dont have enough time/space to get deodorize off anyways.

Eactly my point!!!! Deodirze is worthless for me, and yes i WHM is like the ony choice for smn. I have tried blm and in all honesty it does not work the same. Another friend subs RDM and he just does not learn how dumb that is.

Anyway, for a whm and blm, what spells do you cosndier worhtless?

              Blaze Spikes and Shock Spikes.
Even when something is resistant to ice (undead), I'll still use Ice Spikes when soloing just because of the Paralysis effect. Shock Spikes can stun, but what good is stunning right AFTER the mob just hit you? <.<

I just used Deodorize multiple times yesterday doing Sacirium mission for CoP. After being raised your weakened and if you become unweakened in an area where you can get blood aggro, this could end up meaning an entire wipe. Deodorize kept on people that are weakened will help with that. It may not be a spell that is utilized often but when it is, its a very important spell.

Deodorize is a good party situational spell. For example, if the puller comes back with a raunchy group of mobs (preferably sneak aggro types) if you have Deodorize and have Sneak on, cast Deo on the puller and it should immediately free him from the mobs. Toss in Sneak on him and he's safe for a bit...

With the new depop mode, however, I don't think this spell is really useful even in party situations ...

THM, Once again wise words... but once again.. it is not like you got sacrarium that often, and when you are resting you are usually far away form the mobs, that situation you mentioned is very very good, i will have it in mind.

But for example, sneak and invis are very very useful, stun, sleep, etc.. there is IMO some spells that are rarely used.

You know how you just stated that Sacrarium is not an everyday place? (Well, you can throw in KTR, Gustav-Deep and Gusgen as well) But sneak and invis is worthless in magic-aggro-ville as well. Sure, it's not everyday, but there are times when you're forced to not be able to use a spell or two...

Here's an endgame forgotten spell: Shiva. :D

Edit (I'll actually give a real answer...) :
Your question is pretty broad... WHM or BLM main? WHM or BLM sub?

As SMN/WHM, debuffs in general are pretty useless. If you can stick a debuff on it, you can kill it within two minutes anyway. Except for dia, which sticks on everything...

Slow is a good spell, if you can land it on something. Paralyze is nice when it actually works. >_>a But for 6MP...meh, may as well. Banish I is pretty pointless at 75, I agree with that. Teir I nukes in general are pretty worthless at high levels.

I could go on...but I don't think I really need to. This is sort of something that people "know" after some time at level 75.
