Re: I want everyones answer to this
This is all very interesting to read about. However, when you talk about automobiles, one could safely assume that a lot of people like automobiles. However when one person tricks their's out to be better or look cooler or whatever, no one complains. But when in this game someone bots or grabs a mob before someone else it's nothing but drama between characters, which have lead to GM calls and what-not.
So what if things aren't fair? If someone's a bad player, it will be recongnized and the player would be thrown out of parties.
Also, it's wrong to say I'm not open about passions, for I take a passion in religious and spiritual iconography, symobology, theology, etc. This is where I learned most about being open minded to begin with, and I also learned a lot about common sense, and how uncommon it is. In spirituality, people keep to themselves in a very personal manner. However, in relgious groups, people tend to try to get themselves higher ranking, or make themselves the "preachers pet". It's the same concept in this game: if something bothers you when it does not effect you, why even bother with it?
In the end, it's easy to see the very human qualities beneath the players, and this thread is evident of that. The fact that people are more themselves in game most of the time take the "Role Playing Game" aspect out of it. This is because very few people actually role play. When I say "Role Play" I mean at every turn, in every channel, people are their character, and not their person.
A modern bath house, one could say. You are what you make yourself to be to others. And true, a liar is one that can been easily spoted outside the bath house. However, in this game, people can lie about every aspect of thier lives, for it is, indeed, a role playing game. However there is a big difference between real life and the game in the social sphere: we are differnet online. Some of us are more agressive, some are more quiet. At the same time we could be the exact same. It's all evident, just keep track of what you do IRL and what you do in game.
This topic was meant more for getting a better feel of attitude, and not to cause any animosity. I hope more people keep posting, becasue it will help make each player understand where the other may be coming from.
