That's why I've been a 99 NIN for over 2 years now and still only had a 235 Parry Skill... yet my Guard Skill from PUP has surpassed it at 240ish. I hardly even play PUP.

it is Phalanx + PDT set is mad haxx on stuff like mandies

I don’t know the mechanics on it, but I feel like it’s anything that’s a type job Mnk job, you get great results with -pdt/phanax sets.
Because it works well on taruaus thingy as well as apkallus and mandies.

The lower the damage, the more effective Phalanx is: -20 damage out of 100 is a 20% reduction, -20 damage out of 25 is an 80% reduction. MNK mobs generally hit more often but for less damage than WAR mobs.

It works out so that your PDT gear brings it down to the point where Phalanx can block the rest and you just giggle as all the mandies in the zone swing at you for zero damage.

The only damage I would actually take would be from criticals that peak at 25-30. The rest of the base attacks hit for something pittiful like 10-15.

I could be wrong (as it’s been a while) but I feel like its’ something beyond that. I remember the last time couple times I used my ‘invincible pet gear/atmas’ on Mnk mobs specifially, pets were taking 0 damage from hits (and as we know, pets don’t have phalanx. This was w/o a doubt after the Ducal Guard fix.

Iunno, Maybe I’ll try again today for shits and giggles. Haven’t really needed that setup for a while.

That would require me to have Phalanx. Which I do not. The going price for it is 800k-1mil and I don't have that kind of money atm... or people willing to help me on the BCNMs it drops from.

I'd be willing to do UO for a chance to get the scroll... but my times are so wildly scattered that I can't even really schedule with you or hayde to help me on that one. I know it can be done with 3 mages... or a combination of mages and ninjas.

I still need my Utsusemi Ni scroll and have several hundred Beastman's Seals in storage so we just need one more guy.

I need Phalanx as well, it's the only reason I haven't leveled my RDM sub. We can work this out easily I think; it will be less of a profit run since we all need something in particular, but if we 'fail' and end up with like 5 ni scrolls we can always sell 4 of those and get phalanx that way. That being said, you're more in a hurry to get one so I'll let you get first drop.

I wouldn't mind a Ni scroll since it means I can level my DNC some more with only my Dagger skills gimping me (grounds tomes suck for that), but that is easy enough to fix solo anyway.
