Still working on PDT axe trials, not taking it far too seriously (though, you can't really bum-rush weather trials for the simple fact that certain area's can go several game days without weather, and alternate spots don't have reliable weather) as I'm still trying to figure out what my goals would be when I'm done with them; probably get my helm seals and start working on the +2 pieces.

Update: [July 24, 2014] - Finished all the 'killing' with my axe trials due to being able to team with 1-2 other BSTs for the last three portions, both of them are now upgraded to +2 level 90 versions. I need to farm or buy 60 more geodes, and a few more titanites before I can get them to the 99 variations, though.

got Lvl 74 for my PLD, 1 more level and 3 merits to go to do limit break quest and then maybe able to get into abyssa with hayde, ygg etc.

Thanks to a generous donation of 17 Snow Geodes from Hayde, I finished my Staff Trials and am the proud owner of a fully upgraded Magian Ice Staff.

In celebration, I marched out to LaThein and parsed my Blizzard V damage against worms and was happy about my results.

Low: 4989
Average: 6176
High: 7190 (on a crit)

108 MaB from BLM/RDM with Gear Augments. Atmas used were MM, Beyond and Ultimate.

Put the game into the 360 and sit through three hours of updates.
Check if Linkshell still has members/leader (it does, hooray :D)
Sell Drain Scroll in AH for 80,000 and get 100,000 gil
Get Beastmaster job
Figure out how Macros work
Try not to grow too attached to charmed pet monsters
Level up Beastmaster up to 55 and then do Limit Break quest.
Edit: Got the Sixth Virtue from Habitox... I have no idea what it is, but apparently it must be important as the goblin had !! appear and the "quest/mission complete" music played. Does that count as an accomplishment?

Yeeah, I haven't done too much since logging back on. The 100,000gil is pretty big for me, though. Never had that much before.

It’s 1/3 of a pop set for the Notorious Monsters Jailer of Love & Absolute Virtue. Probably nothing you’ll see for a veeeeery long time. Or ever.
Can probably bazaar if for a decent amount. Not sure what they go for on your server but should be a nice little chunk of change.

I’ve done that dial game a TON of times and never got a !!. He makes me so angry.

I go to that fucker once a week and the most I got was a 20k Khroma Ore. On Cerb, Sixth Virtue is Bazaaring for 10mil. Lucky you!

Sad thing is, I'm probably NEVER going to be this lucky again (in FFXI)... oh well, hopefully the Sixth Virtue sells for a decent sum on Valefore.

I decided to try out the changes they made to Parry last night and geared up my NIN/DNC to take a beating in Mis. Coast.

Terra's Staff (-20% PDT)
Arhat's Circlet (-4% PDT)
Arhat's Gi (-6% PDT)
Dark Ring (-5% PDT)
Dark Ring (-6% PDT)
Twilight torque (-5% PDT)

For a total of 46% PDT out of a cap of 50%. Not bad. Not bad at all.

I put on Atma of the Vicissitude (+Regen/+DEF), Atma of the Mounted Champion (+Regen/+VIT) and Atma of the Cloak and Dagger (+Evasion) and headed out to gather up all the Apkallu I could. In the end I grabbed something like 40 of them.

Not only could they hardly ever hit me (1 hit for every 30 misses or so)... but when they did it was for nearly no damage (parsed between 10-25 damage/hit).

I kicked off the fight by activating Issikaigen and pushing the cluster so they were all on top of one another next to a wall. Thanks to my TERRIBLE Staff Skill I almost never hit them and that made the whole venture last longer. Every minute or so I would Waltz to get back to full health and then AFK again.

This started at 7:00pm EST and went until 9:00pm EST. In that 2 hours (with one break to add time and do some work I had to do) I went from 235 Parry Skill to 300. I never would have dreamed that I could get 65 points in Parry in a single week... let alone a day... let alone 2 hours.

The system... it is broken.

Today I'm going to go to Attowah Chasm and link the Mandragora (since they proc double attack more often and hit for less) and see if I can't get any closer to the cap.

This time I'm buying skillup food to throw this into overtime.

They changed Parry? Is it like Shield (straight % reduction) or Guard (Attack penalty) now?

You know you probably could have just gone /RDM and used phalanx every 3 minutes instead.

Phalanx + PDT set is mad haxx on stuff like mandies.

Neither. They changed how you gain skillups. You now have a chance to get a skillup whether parry activates or not. So in otherwords... any time a melee attack is launched at you... you have a chance to skill up parry.

Previously... you could only gain a skillup when/if parry would have a chance to activate.

It used to be that there was a turn order of activation: Evasion, Shadows, Guard, Parry. If Evasion Proc'd, Parry could not skill up. In otherwords... if your Evasion was capped... you would hardly ever have a chance to skill up. That chance would get even lower if you had shadows up and were on a job that could also guard. To possibly get a skill in parry, the mob attacking you would actually have to phisically hit you to even have a chance.

That is no longer the case.

That would require me to have Phalanx. Which I do not. The going price for it is 800k-1mil and I don't have that kind of money atm... or people willing to help me on the BCNMs it drops from.

I'd be willing to do UO for a chance to get the scroll... but my times are so wildly scattered that I can't even really schedule with you or hayde to help me on that one. I know it can be done with 3 mages... or a combination of mages and ninjas.
