Also: Last night I busted my ass to grind up from quest 8 to quest 12 in the Wings of the Goddess: Windurst questline. If I had been using my desktop to play, I would have screenies to post, but I was on my laptop for the entire duration. I was able to solo everything up until quest 10 where you have to fight waves upon waves of Yagudo/Demons/Tauri/Ariman who storm the gates of Windurst Waters {s} and prevent them from destroying the warding seals protecting the gates. Killing them isnt a problem... it's keeping them from destroying the seals that made it difficult. Thankfully, my buddy Hellhoundxi was online and happened to need to finish quests 12&13 himself, so he teamed with me to burn through what we could. He and I teamed up with his girlfriend's THF to dispatch the army at the gates without a problem (THF/NIN, WAR/NIN and me as SMN/WHM). After that, Hell and I continued on to Quest 11 and then barely pulled out the win on 12. Ziee Deggi the Manifest and 2 Wind Spirits. We found a working strategy that was really simple (if we hadn't screwed up and let the NM regen to 75% atone point when we lost hate. Once we were finished, we did the leg work needed to begin the final fight and plan to take care of both that... and the final fight for WotG main Missions on Saturday. All-in-all... awesome progress yesterday.

Rewards for Wings of the Goddess Mission Completion:
My LS has been tackling WotG this week. We were doing the Windy questline and missions ... but then we have kinda switched to accomodate a couple people and have been working this week on catching up in the Sandy quests.
I'm currently on:
Sandy Quest 10 "Songbirds in a Snowstorm"
Windy Quest 12 "Manifest Destiny"
Mission 31 "Prelude to a Storm"
... the ring rewards from quest 13 seem rather lackluster and so do the atmas. I still haven't figured out the best augments to get that would help my jobs the most for my Moonshade Earring. I'm still underwhelmed by the rewards for such a long awaited ending to a pretty epic story. The story so far and the CSs have been the best rewards... aside from the 'retrace' staffs. imHo.
Any opinions expressed are my own, and potentially unpopular with others. Should this be upsetting, maybe, read it again, insert smiley faces, rainbows, and glitter as needed.
On this fight. Have someone kite Ziee while anyone else available kills off the 2 spirits first. Ziee will not re-summon either of them once they've been killed and that keeps you from being nuked by Astral Flow if they're dead first. My suggestion is to have anyone with SMN come as that... since all 3 of the mobs in this fight cst Wind based spells exclusively. Garuda will resists just about everything in the fight. Also remember to keep your distance to avoid the ability that Ziee uses that stripps your gear off.
Don't forget the reward of not losing your campaign rank, too.
Very true... and actually one of the main reasons I'd like to progress quicker. I got my medal back up to Dawnlight recently. Pretty ez now ... with BLU and DNC I've joined campaign and cap the tags at 8k xp 4k AN pretty quickly. Like after killing 2 mobs typically. Think I've done enough to get my Medal of Altana back but I just have to wait like 3 days or something.

Since I have achieved progress in WotG far enough to give me the highest medal... I was wondering. Do I automatically get that medal or do I still have to work up to it?
I guess what I'm asking is... do I have the highest medal now? Or is the reward that ONCE I OBTAIN IT... I can never lose it?

FOr the medals you still have to work your way up. I hadn't done campaign at all until recently. I wanted to buy stuff with the allied notes I had from doing streetsweeper and was unable to.
I've just made it to emblems. but my mission progress is beyond that. It's good to know I wont lose my medal though.

Oh thats right... higher ranking medals allow you to purchase better and better stuff from the campaign NPCs in the cities. I forgot about that. Now... refresh my memory.... because I have no intention of looking it up on wiki on my phone... is there any other ebnefit to climbing you way to the best betal ranking? Anything at all other than prestige?

I think the final tier of items and participation in Fiat Lux require the highest medal.

Confirmed with the wiki, though the only medal of altana item that looks like it might be useful outside of campaign is a Store TP+2 mantle.
Finished all tier IV voidwatch clears. Now on to Jeuno and Zilart paths.
We just got our tier IV stratum thingers for the San d'Oria line. Trying to make a revival push for Voidwatch in our LS. We did it some prior to the update, but I didn't feel compelled to log on for 2 weeks until the update recently. Apparently, some classy behavior on the part of my leader during those 2 weeks compelled some people to leave and now we just fought the fairy in Jugner with only about 7 people. Sigh...
