Got through the Manticore portion of my STR Shamshir. Despite getting aggro'd out of nowhere by that gd Caturae right off the bat and starting killing 2 'hours' into Fireday, I killed 53 Manticores on my own before 21:00. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now. Can burn the birds rather easily, I'm thinking... and I already have the flame geodes saved up.

Raised my DEX Kila +2 to a Kila +3.

95 BLU and DNC now... working on my 92 THF.

I went out to Attohwa Chasm tonight with the intention of poking Yaanei for giggles and maybe even a win. I soloed it down to about 70-75% before I noticed a small Tarutaru had shown up and was offering to give me a hand. So to make a long story short, I teamed up with him and his two friends and ended up tanking Yaanei. It was exciting and pretty goddamn awesome.

And people say Red Mage tanking is dead...

Finished Nyzule Isle last night. Don’t think the static I’m in is going until at least Wednesday so I burnt two tags. Should have 3 again by then but if not…oh well. It’s very rare I see a shout for my floor (a non boss floor mind you) that’s already 5/6.

I was kinda hoping for some mini cut scene with someone maybe congratulating me or even that ToAU chick yelling at me, but…no such luck. All I got as was Romyro obtained: Runic Key after killing Hydra. Now I just need a variety of weapons for WSs I’ll probably never use.

It was kinda interesting though. We had 1 member get pissed because he didn’t get to use the armband for his run. Apparently he’s working on a mythic and you need 150k tokens. At the end of the run he was like…wow look, I only got 1590 tokens, IT COULD HAVE BEEN 1900!!!. Thanks for screwing me over guys.

Yes…he was freaking out about 300 tokens. If that’s even what he would have gotten (think his math was off). Yet he had no problem spending 500 tokens on temp items for the boss fight in which we’re all 20 levels higher than intended for. I don’t think the boss lasted more than 18 seconds.

You absolutely don't need 6/6... 5/6... or even 4/6 to finish any climb these days. I have a video up on my Youtube of me and 3 others taking down 95-100 this weekend. We did it 4 times... and could easily have gone without the WHM who came with us. We went in as 95NIN/WAR, 95MNK/DNC and me as 95SMN/RDM. The WHM basically camped out at the lamp and listened to orders from us. Sometimes he threw on a cure5-6 at the start of each floor... but nothing I couldn't have done with Garuda's AoE heal each time. I have about 1300mp and never dipped below 800 the entire time. Didn't even need Convert. Nyzul is a joke now. I just need to get off my ass and do it.

Edit: It would probably be helpful to mention what our floor rules were...

Out of the 20 floors we did total, we got 5 lamp floors... 3 of which were "specific order" and the other 2 were "Activate all". 5 floors were "Defeat All Enemies". 3 floors were "Defeat Specific Enemies" (Always Porogogos)... and the remaining 3 floors were "Defeat Enemy Leader" (Mixed... some were Flayers and other were Roons. Obviously the other 4 floors were the NM floors at 100. We got 3 Khimera and 1 Cerberus. We had time after every run to make it at least to floor 2 again killing random NMs before we exited. Our average take was roughly 2k credits.

You absolutely don't need 6/6... 5/6... or even 4/6 to finish any climb these days.

I'll second that. My static only consists of four people with the occasional 5th showing up and the only reason we'd need a 5th is for lamp floors. Heck we could probably do it with three people since half the time we just tell the White Mage to wait at the entrance so we don't get lost finding our way back when we need to move to the next floor. Just make sure everyone has access to some form of healing and it should be a breeze.

When the cap increased to 90 and I started working on Nyzul... it was a pain to start up our group we had on Valefor... but that was only because none of us had too much experience with the event before. Once you know what you're looking for based on floor rules... and you have one leader willing to take charge of the group, it becomes painfully easy to complete the floors in under 3 minutes each. Defeat all? No problem.

Our first run we had some guy who knew what he was doing showing us the ropes. After that the event pretty much ran itself and we never saw him again(he wasn't part of the static). It's not too difficult once you know what you're looking for.

Right now Nzyul is actually the event I look forward to the most. They let me bring my Dragoon to stab things

I definitely look forward to Nyzul a lot now. Unfortunately... this means keeping all of my other assaults (and the promotions that go along with them) on the back-burner until I'm finished with my climb.

I agree, I did a number of floors recently with 3 or 4. The group was 4/6 and I think just shouting to be nice. They were getting ready to leave when me and the other guy popped in.

Did the last floors with me on BLU and two buddies... one WHM and the other THF. Nyzul is way more accessible now.

Sorry if this sounds retarded. I'm curious to do Nyzul and have a few friends I could do it with. I see you mention teams of 4/6 and 5/6.
Do the number of lamps ever present a problem? say with being unable to activate them due to numbers?

Yes. It's possible to go in with less than five people and get screwed over by a floor that requires you to light five lamps in a specific order. I haven't had it happen yet, but it's always a possibility.

Here's the trick for that. Designate one person to stay near the elevator and have them cover the first lamp (its always close by) everyone else searches for the remaining lamps. If there are 5 lamps and 4 of of you... the last person covers the final2 alone.
