You don't have to learn every spell in order to progress. And instead of letting the level 1 bees outside of Windy beat on you for twenty minutes, fight the harder ones a little bit further out, at level 8 they should be about decent challenge or even match. They'll probably do at least two TP moves giving you a better chance of learning the spells.

Granted, Pollen is a useful spell to have, but sub WHM (at that level, a Cure 1 even subbed will suffice for most circumstances) and continue to level, fighting mobs that have spells you need when possible. You'll get the spells eventually. I took my BLU to the Dunes once and I got the spell from flies without even trying. I don't think I even noticed having learned it.

Helped some LS mates fight a buffalo NM in Aby-Ugly for seals that I didn't need. I was just in it for skillups on my RDM and just to fight something. During the session, a JP NIN/DNC went and popped the mob, but we quickly convinced him that he didn't have any procs, so {Team Up} already. I even managed to trigger a grellow on my RDM. And all this from adding only one stone (I get 42 mins/stone now and at about 640 stones now).

Then my Signal Pearl was ready, so I took my NPC for a spin. Okay, 15 mobs (haven't even done the first LB quest yet) and 8 per Teriggan page, I know the drill by now.

Except she didn't go away. WTF? Someone in LS mentioned that they extended the time they stay out. Well they sure did. I got almost through 4 pages (plus a few bonus mobs) before she vanished during a fight (bunny probably got her with AoE attack). She gained two levels during that session. All this when I was about to help someone in the LS with a mission fight, and I was like "yeah, just two mobs left"... "hey why isn't she gone?"... "holy crap she's still here!" I eventually did get to that fight, but I was really ready to go to bed, since I had spent half an hour more than I was expecting. So...

So anyhow, I beat the Sandy 7-2 mission fight for the guy in my sleep. Literally. The last thing I remember was autotarget switching me to the last mob, then I was in Port Jeuno (he had D2'ed me with his WHM/BLM).


So this morning I decided to check what the hell BCNM I needed to fight for the new PUP attachments. Then I saw... 5000 Imperial Standing credits? Nowai. I checked the list on both old and new wiki, nothing. So I went out to the NPC and found them for sale, and added to both wikis, along with some new items that were still redlink in both. So I added them.

And I see people are trying to sell them on AH, but you don't get far on PUP unless you know how to research stuff, and nobody on Sylph had yet bought the first one I checked. 20k IS for the set isn't bad even in these days when pink birds go unmolsted, and you don't need any rank to get them. Wow, SE, talk about rolling over and saying "here, have it already".

Yep, BLU spells are much easier to learn when you breeze past their level first. These days there's no other excuse to run out of steam at level 8, so don't waste your time doing it the hard way if you don't have to.

Also, someone I knew who played BLU found out that Pollen, Magic Fruit, etc. apparently work a lot better when you /WHM, because of the Healing Magic skill.

Or he could just wield my patented Give Me Blue Magic stick (Ash Club +1). Thing works like a charm. Just wail on mob until desired TP move is performed, then worry about killing it.

Yup... I dual wield clubs now when I'm farming spells. Lvl'n club rather nicely in the process.

Heh, I'm using dual clubs on my BLU atm as well. Sword caps so quickly and our club skill is not bad, so I figure why the heck not?

I have an event sword for giving a mob TP, though when my club skill was shit they did the job well enough.

I did it the hard way for the longest time, targeting the lowest possible mobs and hitting them to like, 25%, then turning and letting them wiff, wiff, wiff, hit for 0, wiff, wiff, wiff, hit for 1, go get a sandwich, still hasn't used TP, wiff, wiff, hit for 2, crit for 3, wiff, wiff, wiff, hit for 1, readies Final Sting.

Then I realized that it made more sense to just kill stuff, while targeting mobs that had spells I still needed as much as possible. I eventually got Pollen off the Giant Bees in Saruta, then moved to Tahrongi and targeted saplings and dhalmels.

For a bit there I was doing the turning until it did the WS I wanted no matter how long it took. I give the mob 2-3 chances to do the WS I am seeking depending on my mood. After that it dies.

Finished another Trial for the Cure Pot. + staff and then quickly found out that I can't solo the Yag High Priest for his pixies on my Whinja. I'll have to wait for someone to have some free time to help with that.

Joined a shout group and got my VV atma, and then another to get the Altepa Mega Boss clear, picking up a card for my +2 body along the way.

Very productive day.
