Bad monkey spent 20 min chassing him round the room and pulled hate at just the wrong time. We got him in the end shura body adjuration dropped, nothin else useful. Goin back to sky tonight for another 3 hours of fun and excitement. Wish sky wasnt so dull. Kirin captivator title mine tho.

Got into a pretty good pick-up/level sync party in E. Altepa Desert, so:
1) Altepa gate crystal
2) Region maps for Kuzotz, Vollbow, Korroloka
3) RDM 32 (leader was RDM75, so got some good job tips, too)
4) Crowd control on a linked beetle (almost died zoning to W. Altepa, later learned Sleep->Gravity->Bind cycle)

Also, FoV in Qufim:
Aggro'd Giant Ascetic right after killing Clipper for FoV, slept the Giant, made Pineapple Juice (low MP), ran to cave entrance, enfeebed Giant as he came in, HP/MP got low, Divine Seal -> Cure II -> outlasted Giant. It was nice not dying, and I also "discovered" Divine Seal (nice for soloing, short timer). Originally thought it was a 2hr (was about to go to work anyway), but was pleasantly surprised to learn otherwise. I'm really starting to love RDM.

Definitely was a fun weekend.

P.S. I've been using the following routine solo lately:
Paralyze -> Dia -> Slow -> /equip main "Flame Sword" -> TP>100% Burning Blade -> /equip main "Yew Wand +1" -> repeat

If I still have TP left when first mob dies, I sometimes hit the next mob with a WS first, then start the cycle.

Any tips on how to fine-tune this?

Seems good for soloing. I misread it at first, thinking you were doing that in parties, though honestly, you shouldn't need to change weapons to land those spells. I'm going to go ahead and assume that you're soloing EP/DC mobs, so you shouldn't get many resists. If you're concerned, you can throw some extra MND gear on for those spells, but you'll be more effective when you're not dropping all of your TP at the start of the fights to enfeeble. Especially since you can rest (with signet) and not lose TP. You might kill faster without swapping to cast.

I haven't meleed on RDM in quite a while, but I very rarely got resists on solo/farming mobs and I never changed my weapon to enfeeble when meleeing.

Yea, I have been landing spells (no resists) without switching to Yew Wand +1 pretty easily (really can't say if the +4 MND is making a difference or not). I also macro in Saintly Rings and Eremite Rings depending on the spell. My MND is +11 if I switch in all the +MND gear (+7 if I stick with Flame Sword). I've also been debating using WS @100% TP vs. storing up ~300% TP for a DC/EM. I definitely like that you don't lose TP while resting now (was it always that way? I remember losing TP when I played a long time ago).

Two other accomplishments: novice woodworking, and 31->34 cooking (just learned about fish broth, so should hit 40 soon).

No.

And yeah, the MND will help, but it's not as noticeable on mobs that are your level or below. It will make a much bigger difference to enfeeble in MND gear at higher levels, when you're fighting HNMs or Sky gods or some shit like that. Keep changing gear for your spells, that's a good direction to start in. You'll really start to notice resists happening more as you get into the 50's (though by 55 you won't enfeeble anything anymore, because most parties xp on those stupidly weak birds) but, that's when gear will start to matter more for enfeebles.

There's a whole long enormous post I could write about how RDM changes as you level, but for now you seem to be doing things right and I'm sure if you need to ask questions, you'll find us.

Spent the entire week fighting Campaign, or more precisely tanking NMs. After not playing for so long I expected to die fast, but I think I actually got better at it.

It's gonna be fun after I get the new items (4 days to go till my next Evaluation), then I'll be able to take a break by the end of August till SE completes WotG.

After all Istill haven't been able to finish RGG3 and a couple of other games I have on queue right now.

Also, somehow managed to get White Mage to 39. I'm still more or less 73.9k behind on spells (it's actually looking a little on the "less" side, which is good).

For Burning Blade, 100% TP is fine. However, if you can get yourself an EX Sword WS subjob (/WAR, /DRK, /PLD, /BLU), Red Lotus Blade is amazing at those levels. Equally efficient at 100% TP as it is at 300%, with peak efficiency at 200%, not to mention that it's pretty much already a beefed up Burning Blade by design. Only thing you would miss out on would be stuff you'd get from other subjobs, like /WHM, and considering your sig, it may or may not be a priority to level any of the subs that lets you use RLB in the first place right away anyway.

One thing, though, that is guaranteed to improve your performance regardless of sub is upgrading your Flame Sword to a Centurion's Sword.

Anyway, glad to hear that you're enjoying Red Mage.

Starlight Medal - it took me maybe 10k of campaign xp to get it, and it was almost impossible for me to get decent xp those first few days when the entire enemy force died in about 2 minutes flat.

I hit 100k IS, so it was about time to get a couple stacks of silvers and camp in front of the warp taru, especially when only the perma-idler was there for competition. I was 11k short of hitting 3 million gil, and maintenance happened. I just need to sell a few more Imperial Silvers or something on the AH. And then eventually I'm going to have to go spend some of it. But I still have 80k of IS left, so I'll probably sell a few more stacks first.

And a non-accomplishment yesterday was when I only got 0.1 staff in a Besieged battle. It wasn't because I wasn't hitting; the skillups just wouln't proc for me. But I got 1.7 in the previous one, which is super-epic so close to cap. I only have 2.2 staff left to cap it on BLM. But in that same battle where I got 0.1, someone I know hit 230, so I'm going to wait for him after I break my latent and we can fight the NM at the same time.

{Found it} Beaucedine(S) and Xarcabard(S) and the big scary dragon in the sky made me run into Imp aggro to christen the lands with my blood. I was expecting it to travel at a UFO's pace... then it screamed across the sky towards me. Thank you random dude who tractor'd me and raised^^

Got my first drops from Campaign Union spoils - Peiste Hides, Lynx Hides, Smilodon Hides (1-2k)... a Swamp Ore (70k) and a Ordelle Brz Pc I bazaar'd to an LS mate for 13k. Pashow Marshlands(S) Quads were a bit of a joke to my Dnc. They couldn't hit me at all. If they did, Fan Dance reduces their onslaught to nothing. I saw someone with the Cobra Cap set on and I don't think I can bring myself to wear it. Too Rocky Horror Picture Show leather-gay-bar'ish for my taste. So I'm thinking of getting the Fourth Brunne for SAM instead... too bad I already have the Cobra head and feet pieces.

Augmented first item - easily solo'd the Behemoth Dominion NM on Dnc. Traded my good ol' Life Belt and created a bastard version of a Potent Belt... [+1Str, -1Agi/Dex, +?? Water] Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I don't think I'll be attempting to do these with a Chivalrous Chain anytime soon. Maybe my Bat Cape, Traveler's/Nomad's Mantles, RSE, Eva earring, and Battle Gloves will fall victim, but IDK.

Completed Moogle expansion. Story was way better than ACP, but that really doesn't take much. The ??? gather in Quicksands was more annoying than the fetch quests, though I may have just been lucky on drops and HELMing. (went 1/1 on Coffer key, so I know I was lucky there). Final Boss was actually a lot of fun. Great watching a BLM tank something that mows a SAM down XD. An odd thing happened During the BC. Boss used Crystalline Flare and dropped a bomb on top of me. Instead of knocking me back, it shot me straight up. Really wish I took a pic. Took the mage hat with +4 MND, +3% Cure Potency, -4 Enmity, and +10 Magic Crit (comes with the enmity...).

Also got Moonlight Metal, so at max Campaign rank until the next update or the one after that.

Got crap Augments on Fay Smn staff, so will have to try again. (Best was -2 perpet +7 Attack +2 MAB)

Yeah, wow!!! I put mine up right away day before yesterday and got 70k w/in no time, and now, I see on Hades it's selling for a consistent 15k atm.
