Got the clear from {Dyna-Beaucedine} ... Relic gear seemed to just turn off for us about 30% thru. Also, though I was saving for an amemet mantle +1, I happened to get a Behemoth Knife +1 on the cheap by low-balling the AH.

PLD AF 6/6 (The main challenge was convincing people that the NM fight is one of the easiest of the lot if you can sit there and listen to instructions)

PLD from 57 to 58 (Painfully slow 6k/hour party because the party leader wouldn't change camps)

Got into a Nyzul floor 100 run (SAM, DRK, DRK, MNK, WHM, RDM) with the Goliard Hat as free lot and with a really good group too. The only thing that really messed us up was a Soulflayer floor but we got lamps right after so it was essentially a free rest for the mages while we figured out the order. The only thing that dropped was the MNK mythic base (he already had that) but it was still fun to actually have a Nyzul run that didn't have some tard who aggros the whole zone.

Latest Accomplishment - Soloed all 4 Hinge Oils as DRG/BLM for mission 7-1 of Windurst go me also got to the door in time.
- Helped a DNC get drop for AF quest in Castle Oztroja after dying 3 times bc I kept getting interrupted .

Greatest accomplish - Got a Chain 3 on Greater Manticores in Cape Terrigan VT - 75 as DRG/BLM

Corsair from 41 to 44! Checked the parse after and I beat the RNG with DQ damage alone O.O . Doesn't surprise me really since she was standing next to the RDM the whole time and only got hit by the mage buffs.

Also saw some jerk get at the very least a temporary ban. Basically he camped on top of us and when we asked his group to move he went into a huge tirade of just about every sexual slur at the female party members and basically cussed his head off at the male party members. GM answered and ported the guy to GM prison so win for us

SAM to 37! No more sub jobs, ever!! If I ever have to see 1-37 again that job is going all the way to 75.

Also managed to grab an elemental torque before they doubled in price lol. Still need dark and enhancing before I am willing to unretire SCH.

Over the past couple of days:

Enhancing Magic 100

Sand Charm quest completed (all that effort for a cutscene that fulfills multiple definitions of the word "sad" . . . ).

Attempted to duo the Medieval Collar quest NM with my Fellow - I got close, but I had a feeling the battle was lost when I had to pop Invincible before he could.

Im 20 lvls away from my very first 75 :3 (lvling blue)

and my latest accomplishment was getting PCC and utsusemi ni doing Under Observation with 2 friends

I managed to gather together all the discontinued bits and such needed to make an old "chubby" Ps2 play FFXI, 7 years too late. :D GO ME! *pumps fist* Can't wait till I can finally play! XD

I'm in the same boat as you, I just started playing last August 2008 so your not far from me, even though their are people who is still coming to the game even as we speak.

Don't feel too bad, just bring the knowledge you have with you, maybe you will excel quickly at the game and not struggle like most people.

It's still 3 hours from tally time, but yesterday I helped Windurst take Zulkheim. In the morning I noticed how close we were, bought a load of 50 or so Bone Axes (for just over 200k gil of the 1.4M I had after making 250k on water crystals the day before), and dumped them on the NPC. No change in the bars.

Then that afternoon, I noticed someone with {Expeditionary Force} in his seacom, and got to do something I had never expected to have the chance to do. The fights are pretty easy to 6-man, especially if two of the six are BLMs on sleep duty. Also, buffs do not wear when it starts, so Protectra V + Stoneskin will keep the WHM safe for a while. And apparently the region map only has a minute or two of lag on its updates.

We got it maybe a pixel ahead of Bastok, and I had to get some sleep. I woke up to us 2 or 3 pixels ahead. And then I used the Ordelle's chest key farmed the day before for a few more points.

Got MNK to 17 and quested/brought a lot of the expensive gear needed for MNK

Scorpion's Harness, Jujitsu Gi, Brown Belt, O. Kote.. am I missing anything?

Ehh, I forget how long it's been since I posted here, so...

Unlocked blu, nin, and sam. I had help on nin, but I was able to solo the sam fights as a 49 rdm/24 blm.

I finally got my map to Ranguemont Pass by completing The Rescue. I only died once while soloing that nm. x_x

Snagged an Enhancing Torque and decided to redo SCH macros. A long time later, they are finally done. Then I promptly D/ced thanks to the awesomeness that is comcast

Blue mage 75 woot finally. I dinged 75 in valkurm dunes level synced down to a level 18 drk on my other chr cause I'm so sick of looking for party on blue mage. pretty much duod with my alternate from 66-75 with a little campaign thrown in. Drks make awesome duo partners for blue mage imo. Im tempted to keep going with my drk blu duo for a while longer to cap my buffer on blu, I'm thinking drk souleater > ws blue mage makes a gravitation self SC to pull hate drk MB drain to recover HP will be awesome. Over the course of my duo Ive levelled a war from 11>30 got him a sub job, levelled mnk to 16 and levelled drk on him to 21 )

Also excavation duty my fisrt assault win, managed to get some very easy skillups off the walls, I'm about 6 from capping sword and 1 from never having to skill up blue magic again woot.
