That's why I like having two computers with FFXI -- one recently came up with some errors. Tracked down the problem to one directory, and replaced the entire directory with what was on the other computer. It all works incredibly well now.

The only reason I'd ever have to install with my error-prone Vana Diel Collection 07 is for registry information. Copying all the files over not only is quicker, it also copies over all my personal settings and send all the updated dats, too, so I don't have to go through a long update.

Let's see, latest accomplishments:

Got some LS help to learn Refueling. We went out there and blitzed through a bunch of the Sweeping Clusters in order to do it.

Reached 51 Blue Mage

Got my Blue Magic capped in Besieged and Campaign, which is pretty significant since I've been soloing for quite some time now. While my Blue Magic wasn't really under leveled, it was a bit from the cap. For those low lvl Blu in a similar situation I'd highly recommend Blastbomb, Poison Breath and MP Drainkiss, really great for skillups.

Got my AF pants, that was my first time in the execution chamber BCNM, so that was really cool. Also got my AF body. I think I'll go ahead and get my AF hands next. Trying to save up some gil for some stuff, but 40k for a platinum ingot can be replaced with little effort, mostly just time, and the experiment that I'm saving up my gil for is a bit iffy, so I may or may not need all that gil anyways. And I'd need my AF hands anyways once I get my Blue Magic capped at lvl 66. I'd want to go out and learn all the Blu spells up to lvl 75 at that point.

At a little over 200 marbles. Almost got the 300 needed to try the NM raptor maze. That's where I'm betting the Koggelmander comes from.

That's about it, nothing terribly exciting going on over here Although Refueling IS pretty cool to have.

Ok so ya I know this isn't a game related accomplishment but that doesn't mean it isn't a damn accomplishment!! Here is some of the baking that I've accomplished. Some has already been whisked off and in the bellys of others by now but here are some of the others:

Now imagine multiple containers of each of these items. Dozens and dozens........Tupperware is my buddy. I'm frickin exhausted and I'M BEHIND! My daughter was supposed to have off from work all this week. She told me so. I asked her straight out. This is what I do because I plan my baking extravaganza in minute detail aaaaaaaaand she said "I do not have to work this week." Guess what? Phone rings this afternoon and its her job asking where the hell she is. >< If she didn't go in then she didn't get her Christmas bonus and she can not afford to miss that. So on top of baking MEGA DOSES OF COOKIES, I now have to watch 2 grandchildren too. Thank goodness for my son who is my rock. I couldn't get through baking season without him:

After Christmas I'll bake you guys some cookies of your very own if you want. My itinerary for the next 3 days is:

• Remember add to all of this, 60% of the time I'm watching my 2 grandkids.

• Make dough for 8 dozen snowball cookies.

• Bake 8 dozen snowball cookies.

• Bake 12 dozen cut out sugar cookies.

• Frost 12 dozen sugar cookies.

• Decorate 12 dozen sugar cookies.

• Inspect every f**king decorated sugar cookie to make sure that my asinine daughter didn't decorate any angels/santas/snowmen/etc with penises and/or balls.

• Box up and wrap 106 Christmas gifts.

• Plan out my Christmas dinner and make my grocery list.

• Go to the grocery store and get items for Christmas dinner.

• Soak beans for the pot of baked beans I need to make for Christmas Eve dinner at my sisters' house.

• Pack up all the platters and Christmas tins with cookies and baked goods that I pass around during the holidays.

• Decorate and label all of the packed up tins and platters and then deliver them to all the neighbors/mailmen/etc.

• Fry up the hickory smoked bacon for the baked beans and then finish putting them together so they can simmer.

• Pack up all the gifts to haul to my sisters house. Try not to screw up and get gifts that are supposed to stay home or go by my aunts or my mothers or by my friends mixed in.....don't worry, I will. /sigh

• Clean up the mess of stuff brought home from my sisters house so the house isn't a mess for Christmas day, even though I'm exhausted and would rather go to bed. And then.....

• Organize the stockings and gifts at our house Chirstmas Eve night for the unwrapping orgy in the morning.

• Clean up the insane mess after the unwrapping orgy and then set about baking and cooking the rest of the day until supper time.

• After Christmas supper, leave the dishes for someone else to do, go upstairs and put on my jammies, crawl into bed with my PSP/DS and play games until I pass out.........which probably won't take too long.

• Then the next day get up at 3am so that I can go out to get deals on stuff for Christmas NEXT YEAR....

So I'm gonna bake you guys some cookies next week! ^^

So I was doing Uninvited Guests, hoping for an Assault Breastplate for my PLD resist sets...instead I got Mannequin Hands. I was going to just bazaar them, so I moved them to Thorald since he's my market whore as of late...and I happen to look in his Sandy storage for some THF gear, and wouldn't you know he had mannequin legs/feet/head in there...so I just broke down and bought a body for 170k, lol. Whenever I get home and have time to run around for the quest tomorrow I'll have myself a new mannequin, always wanted one!

Accomplished about 78 or so Moblin Marbles today. I can't wait to get myself a Maze Voucher 04 and start crafting the heck out of those mazes, albeit once daily. Either way, I *really* can't effing wait until I'm past all the "hey, we're just going to let the weakest member of our party stay that way and we'll all just slaughter every mob in our way rather than try to HAVE FUN on our only run through this person's maze for the day, and we'll call it farming marbles. Oh, and staying in the lobby for an entire 60 seconds is a cardinal sin" maze runs. >.<; I'm going to have to be more "Level Sync or GTFO" about that. You don't like level 16? Well, TOUGH.

Oh, wait, I ranted about this already. Ah, well, no point in letting all this frustration go to waste.

TGM, your son is reading to the grandkiddies? You haven't already gotten them hooked on FFXI and pulled a Tom Sawyer on them about how much fun farming up gil and giving it to Grandma is? And what a big kid thing to do too!

Cute grandkid. He looks old enough to possibly read the Hobbit to. I mention it because my Dad always read adult books to us as kids, and it was just a really neat and fun experience and I'm probably one of the few people of my age group that I have met who enjoys reading, and largely due to my Dad reading to me as a kid.

So yeah, I am a big on the whole reading to the kiddies thing, and I should probably get off my soap box now >.>

I kinda miss not having the rest of the family (grandparents, uncles, cousins, etc) nearby and doing the big big Christmas/Thanksgiving thing. On the other hand it gets so hectic that it's kinda nice having the quiet time.

Nope, they rarely get to play games actually. They must earn their time to play. It's the same system I used with my kids. Unfortunately, I'm not their mother and their mother isn't very attentive so she doesn't interact with them. At their age they need interaction when playing video games to help them understand stuff or they easily get bored with it. Since she's too damn lazy to do this, she'd rather not bother setting up the game (too much effort) or paying attention to them while playing (again too much effort). Also with 2 kids she'd actually have to handle the issue that they both want to play at once but yet again.....that is too much effort. If it requires her to get her lazy fat ass off the couch and away from the phone or tv, then its too much effort. But when grandma/grandpa/uncle watches them, THEN they get video game time! ^^

Ya, I love family time when its enjoyable. My daughter makes it a pain 50% of the time though. This year most of the time her main job was WATCH YOUR CHILDREN! Guess what? She couldn't even do that correctly. I'm in the kitchen baking and she's in the living room with the kids and I hear this thumping. I finally go in the living room and see the kids under my shelves wrestling and knocking stuff off of them. Does she get up and do something about it? Nope, she just sits there watching tv. So Gramma has to wash her hands, go wrangle the kids, spend 5 mins with them and get them interested in something else and then go back to baking. She's no help.

And I'm off for another round of 10 hours of baking! Have a great day guys!
