DING BLM75!

I did a fucktastic grind from 66-75 in the last few days with a friend, and got into some killer manaburns afterwards, which also resulted in Freeze II, Burst II, Ice Potency, and 2 Elemental Skill upgrades =)

I dread to think out much exp I went through..............................

Also, managed to get my Ice Obi, 1 goldfish organ away from Thunder Obi.

Borrowed a friend's Sorc Ring on IceDay with Obi and Ugg Pendant...popped a 1918 Freeze II :D

You need to write a WHM guide, BTW, now you've proved you know your stuff.

WHY WHY WHY is it SO MUCH HARDER to play mages out of Windurst than it is to play any of the melee jobs out of either Bastok or SanD'oria???

Mages are just harder at the starting levels; don't think it matters much which nation, either.

I started off as melee (lolTHF), so I tried nuking my way to Lv.10 on BLM for change. Maybe got as far as Lv.4, then I decided "Forget this crazy magic stuff--I'm grabbing a staff then gonna bash the skull of every EP critter I see." Grilled a rabbit I killed (OK, crafted Grilled Hare), ate it, and didn't stop until I was Lv.8 or so.

All other mage jobs I pretty much leveled the that way to 10--with brute force on easy critters, and minimal magic. Even on BLU, I didn't bother with any spell until Lv.7, I think. RDM, WHM, and SCH were pretty much swing and bash affairs. The sole exception was SMN. Since Summoning Skill is so hard to come by, I played it slow and would not kill a thing without Carbuncle. (Which is why my SMN is stuck at Lv.11 and I'm dreading having to return to it.)

I think so - from the danger level of the mobs directly outside, to the simple layout of Windurst itself, it seems more difficult to me - Now, Granted, the music is better, 'cuz I don't know about you but I have to turn the music off when Im Sandy, it gives me hives! - Those bagpipes from hell! - SOr7y. And as a whole the entire Magic thing is mostly a "Come kick my ass" until you get to a high enough level to make a difference anyway. /Grain of salt - I've not come far enough to really warrant having such a generalized opinion, so take it for what its worth (not too dang much).

If you just hit lv 10 and are just starting, how do you have experience fighting in all three nations? Did you start over a few times or something?

Also, FYI: Money will be tight for a very LOOOOOONG time...

Originally I just started mules to fetch and carry, but then I decided that I was bored with that and wanted to try melee, so I jobbed them out and went to kill things - wow, melees get a lot of advantages! - So Im lvling all three - kind of experiencing the game three different ways.
