Apart from certain areas like Sky

There's a sky warp. Once you unlock it, you just need to port to the crag, go into it like you're going to enter Promy, and then take the portal on the right and be ported instantly to sky. Once in a while your "chip" will break but it's infrequent. You can also unlock it from all three of the major crags. Sky warp saved me so much time, now if only the Kirin porter wasn't fucktarded.

It's pretty easy to unlock too but I can't remember how exactly. But it beats running through Zi'Tah, Ro'Maeve, and Hall of the Gods.

Now if they'd ever made a quick way to get to Faffy's room, I'd have been all over SE with gratitude.

Don't try to digest it all at once. For now, you should only worry about doing your supply runs for Outposts and getting the first 3 Teleport Crystals. Ask anyone in the Linkshell and they'll be happy to help guide you through anything you might be confused about.

Also if you have any questions, you have an entire forum of well-informed (supposedly) members who have nothing better to do with their time. Fire away.

Lol. Uhm the 3 teleport crystals I'm meant to be getting are where exactly? xD I didn't count 3 in that list lol
And Okie dokeys If I'm not feeling chicken when I'm stuck, I will ask for help

Teleport-Mea and Teleport-Holla are the ones you should go for now.

Holla is in LaThein Plateau. You go from Bastok > Gustaberg > Konschtat Highlands > Valkurm Dunes > LaThein Plateau to get there. It's not a bad run. It'll take you about 15 minutes or so from start to finish. Get the KI from the crystal there.

Mae is a bit more of a walk... and slightly more dangerous. You might want to make your first trip to Jeuno first and obtain your Chocobo licence before trying to go that far. Talk to Geo about the licence... I know he's currently working on his. He'll tell you what to do.

Okie dokeys Ima have to grind some mobs first need gil, Don't think I have the map for Dunes :/
But once I done that, will deffo head to Plateau Thank You ^^

Got me some new armors
Dr helped me get some nommy warp spell ^.^ But now I hate Cabbages >.<
Also did that dungeon type place with skeletons O.o With Dr, he healed me whilst I killed a few ^.^ Thankies Dr, for staying with me for a few hours.
Also met Klarissa, he/she is so nice, been talking to them for half hour, they're very helpful ^.^
Did the supply quest Yyg suggested and got one of the KI things for the teleport thing

So today, I've explored, killed some, and met some really nice people

And, really, that is all FFxi should be about. Gods, I miss being able to play whenever I want. Too much rehearsing Time Warp to log in. It's fun but it's exhausting.

I managed to get my chocobo today, but I had some computer problems so didnt play much past couple days.... fixed the problems today so will be on tomorrow

Finally downed Amarok for the umpteenth time tonight to get the last of my DNC seals. Now to get my Empyrean feet and I'll have a complete set of +1's.

I remember seeing Yyg's name popping up as a shout/yell whilst adventuring in Jeuno some time ago. Though I could never find him. Either my terrific internet just made him invisible to keep the console from exploding, or I just couldn't see him in the crowd.

I guess I'll have to ki- hug him another day.

I know it's a little sudden... but events of the past week have convinced me that should at least look into another option before I keep playing FFXI.

As it stands, the only thing I'm working on every single day is my Nirvana. If I get it... what then? I'd probably quit. Where's the fun in finishing something that epic only to stop playing? Not much.

So for the time being, I'm unsubbing and trying out FFXIV and all the changes that have happened since the last time I played it.

I'll still keep up with the updates here and I'm certainly not writing off the idea of coming back... but for now I'm on hiatus.

Meh, it's good to take breaks. Although I am somewhat disappointed that your quest to beat FFXI is on hold. I thought that was a pretty awesome project, but I also get where you're coming from. Burn out happens.

I'm pretty close to it myself. Last night was the first time I've logged on in weeks. At the moment I'm really just idling and waiting for a chance to get my hands on Guild Wars 2.

I noticed you hadn't been around for a while. It was nice of you to help lea out. At least we can say that we're leaving after showing a new guy girl the ropes as it was always what we were best at anyway.

Time will tell what I ultimately decide to do. For now, it makes me optimistic to know that I can play FFXIV on my laptop. I haven't tried entering a densely populated area yet... but that's next.

I blame at least part of my absence on back pain making it difficult to sit in a chair long enough to really play FFXI, but that's starting to get more manageable so logging on happening etc etc ramble ramble.
Showing the new folks the ropes always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. It's all "I remember when I was new to the game and how cool it was, and I also remember this part right here sucking and wishing someone had helped me with that back then so now I'm gonna help someone with it now so they can have more fun." Or something.

However, I always considered standing around looking awesome in a pimp hat to be what I was best at.
