k…here are some of my suggestions. Take them with a grain of salt if you want. Fight Tigers somewhere.
It works for me, may work for you.

Atmas
Use MM for sure. Other 2 may vvary. I was using RR and SS
-can replace RR or SS with MC if you’re having trouble surviving.
-can replace RR or SS with Apoc too if you’re scared of dying w/o reraise.

While the others are good for Macc, key here is to remove status on you, not enfeeb enemies. Abyssea mobs are usually EP or DC any these days right? pull 2-3+ tigers and just hack away. using light when needed.

I don’t know what to say to that setup lol. Not horrible but needs adjustments (MY OPINION). I don’t remember what you do or don’t have so if those are filliers then disregard.

-Drop flashbulb, yes it’s an awesome one but unless you’re getting creamed and can’t take the hits your just wasting a slot.
-If you need Regen, use MC atma. No 20m wait anymore so even if your pet dies or takes damage, you can recall it. Regen is not as important.
-Drop mana Conserver. You have MM on…can’t image MP being an iusse. And if your DA/A-ing, you should have infinite MP
-Shock Asorber is ok…but really don’t think it’s necessary. Nice filler though
-Percolator. Cant speak for this one…but wiki says raises ‘combat’ skills…which won’t do shit for magic if that’s correct.

I’m at work so I can’t see my setup but I’m pretty sure its (by order of importance (again, my opinion))
Keep in mind this is for skilling up or random lolxping, not Crazy NM fights.

Damage Gauge
Mana Booster - (very helpful)
Mana Tank I (or II)
Vivi-Valve
Optical Fiber (very helpful)
***(fillers after this basically)***
Stealth Screen
Armor Plate (not sure which but doesn’t really matter)
Turbo Charger – (filler, does nothing for magic)
Stablizer (filler, just for help getting TP for tactical switch)
Accelorator (filler I guess)
Tactical Processor (still not 100% sure on this one lol)

first 2 are the most important. one to keep you alive and the other for more reqeunt casts.

In other news... Eligarf and I finished our 5 weeks of climbing and have cleared and recorded floor 100 in Nyzul Isle. When we first began, we had a list of weapons we were both after. We're not finished in there yet, but now that we have access to 95-100, we can knock the rest out next weekend.

Runic Key... you is mine. Blade: Kamu... you is next. Leaden Salute... you is last.

Next on my list is to start running through all of the assault missions. Fun...

Does anyone know if those were uncapped along with Nyzul? I don't recall.

From what the wiki says it seems like you set the caps yourself

When you reach the Staging Point, one member of your party needs to get an Assault Armband in order to lead the mission. Talk to the Immortal sentry in the staging area and pay them 50 Imperial Standing for the armband.

The leader then needs to examine the Runic Seal and select the level cap. The options are for a 50, 60, 70 cap, or no level cap. After confirming that you are ready everyone in the party that is in the staging area with correct orders is transported to the mission area.

If any party member does not not fulfill the requirements to participate, an error message will appear and no-one will be transported into the Assault zone.

And, assaults are cool, I'd like to join if our schedules for it work =p

I'm not sure if eli is planning to continue on into Assaults with me but I do need at least 3 people in my party to even enter one. I'll take all the help I can get from you guys.

I really hadn't worked out any sort of plan for when to go in. I was actually expecting to get no help at all and to wind up going in with PUGs that scraped together from the garbage in P. Jeuno. Friends would be a much better option.

Are you guys free most of the time on Saturdays? That really seems to be the best day for me.

War dinged lvl 35, PLD quest complete now off to gideous to see if I can solo the 2-3 mission since the level cap has been removed? lvl 35 war / mnk with regen, protect and mighty strikes I hope will do. Now have a mule "Bricksmithra" in bastok to help sell more stuff on the AH.

Blah don’t say it like that…I make mistakes all day every day. For years I stupidly had my ‘leave’ macro right next to my ‘fight’ macro on Bst. Lemme tell you. Horrible ideal.

I just recently moved it to the only open macro I had left….right next to ‘heel’…which turns out to be a bad idea as well ><

If your method works better in your experience let me know and I’ll try it myself as well. It just looked a little off on paper to me. I’m not one of those ‘my way or the wrong way' pups. I always egar to learn new ideas from others.

BTW I did raptors today in an XP alliance. They seemed like viable skill up options as well. I was getting a lot of skill ups off Erase and Paralyna. I never looked into it but maybe the master to its puppet is considered EM (IE easier to skill off) oppose to xp abyssea mobs that rarely go over DC.

@Cid: Kewl. In order to even trigger the Nirvana Questline, I need to be a Mercenary Captain Rank. Sadly... I never bothered with Assault because I didn't see much point... or any really good rewards besides increased access to Salvage. Thankfully, I can do all the legwork for Nirvana ahead of time... anything that requires titles at least.

I have to do keep Sanction on at all times to accumulate points so that I can use them during Nyzul and Assault Missions... I need Assault Points in order to access and participate in Salvage. It's lovely how SE linked everything together like that. Now I'm pissed I never did these years ago.

Yesterday I logged in, set myself on Away/Anon/Invisible and entered Abyssea - LaThein to skill up my Automaton. I managed to get almost 10 points in Magic during my time there... and this was how I did it:

I put on x2 Regen Atmas for 30hp/tic and MM for 10mp/tic. I ran to the Pixies and snagged one from the group, pulled it to the wall near Briareus, beat it down to around 5% and turned. I then deployed my Automaton on him and gave myself a gap to prevent it from meleeing the thing. I then went to make a sandwich, walk the dog watch some TV and take a shower. I got back with only 20minutes left on my visitant status... but I still had hate thanks to all the damage I had done and my Automaton was still casting Silena/Cure V/Haste on me and Dia II/Para/Silence/Blind on the pixie.

It wasn't efficient... but it produced results. I really just wanted to see if it would work at all.

The reason I picked pixies was because they heal themselves. I figured that would translate into an infinite fight should it have turned to attack Comedie.

At least you had the chance to do it back when it was still fresh. I got to the party after everyone had cleaned up and gone home

...well if you’re to go that route…I’ll 1 up you.

Go to the Quav home (beaudux or whatever). Run right next to the MUTE machine outside (not in the tunnel). Agro a nearby pugil of somesort and position your puppet the same way you did with pixies, while staying by the machine. He’ll spam silena till he’s out of MP, which you can just recall every 20 minutes or so.

If your close enough to the machine, he pops far away when you activate.

i guess it's not infiniante, not sure if mana tank I and II is enough to keep up.

Actually that may not work anymore with enfeebs and enhancing spells on different timers now…

That’s how my buddy skilled his mage before the update.

Got MNK, DNC, NIN, and SMN emp. bodies +1'd. Also managed to snag Crooner's Cithara (+1 Ballad harp) and an Atheling Mantle over the weekend. Got Exenterator and Upheaval to 5/5, and am just 50 merit points from finishing off Shijin Spiral! Need to go back out and kill Hm'Zdei again for the Magnus Sainti (they look like so much fun!)

Regarding DNC +1 body... is the 'enhances dual wield' effect better than the haste +4% that is on the Rapparee harness for TP? If I switch, I'll lose the 4% haste (and drop below the gear haste cap). So, keep TPing in the Rapparee harness, or take the haste hit and switch to Charis +1?

Wiki has it listed as 5% dual wield, but it's unconfirmed data. If it actually is 5% then it should beat out 4% haste unless the loss of TP from the reduced delay MATH ARMANDO WE NEED HELP!
