    Bleh, sounds like it's gonna be a long slow grind to Surya's Staff after all. I don't understand people on other forums who are all "oh yeah it's easy, I knocked it out on my lunch break".

      Weather Forecast -FF11 Bazaar

      That site lists the forecast for weather for the next three vanadiel days. Pretty handy for finding weathers.
      You might be stopping to enjoy the game instead of rushing to cap, but that is not normal now. -Mhurron

          After the bottled pixies, you can take care of the elementals very easily. Farfadels (sp?) in Abyssea - La Thiene count for purposes of the trial. I don't know how many people are doing the Surya's quests on your server -- but I found/formed alliances there (just teaming up with other people doing the same quest) on Lightsday & whipped those quests out very quickly. One Lightsday took care of the 1st quest & a chunk of the 2nd. The second Lightsday took care of the 2nd quest very quickly.

            I fully agree with you here. On Cerberus white gate is empty. literally. Trying to find some one to do the nyzul quest is a night mare. I guess I will have to do the slow grind.

              I think Temenos is always double-light weather. 2nd floor is elementals. Not sure if it's a good solution (compared to abyssea), but planning a brief run during lightday might be enough to knock out a single trial, and you have the possibility of AF upgrade items, ABCs, and an Ultima pop item (which is a nice nuking atma, if you don't have it).

              When I did the light day/weather elemental kills, I teamed up w/ an alliance of BLM/RDM/WHMs in West Sarutabaruta [S] on lightsday and we just sniped the Yagudo pet elementals. If nobody screws up and aggs the master, it is possible to knock out a trial in a single day.

                does abyssea count for lights day?

                    Temenos mobs don't give exp, though, so they don't count for the trial.

                      Yes - Abyssea counts during Lightsday. Otherwise, one wouldn't get credit for slaughtering evil fairies in Abyssea-La Thiene.

                        I may be wrong... but I'm thinking they changed that and now the mobs do. Seems like when my LS was doing Limbus we were getting xp/kill.

                          Finally did the Promathia BC, after a few hiccups. Many thanks to Lago (TM) and our LS member Myefe who helped. Less thanks to the LS member who told us that if we didn't decimate it we were awful Blue Mages.

                            Got up early today to bust out a few of the staff trials I've been putting off for a while. I'm following the path that will grant me the Garuda Staff. The -6 perp and -10 BP timer will do me a lot of good with Garuda. Currently i'm on the "Kill 150 undead... final hit must be wind magic... more than 50 damage" It's not hard... it's just not very quick. The only substantial damage I can pull off is with Garuda and Wind Blade... but unfortunately I'm a slave to the BP timer. I found that going to Aby and killing those floating head... things... is the easiest so far. I just melee them down to 75% health or so and then BP them with Wind Blade to kill them. It's 1kill/45 seconds. So... at this rate... I could be done in a little over an hour... assuming I dont rest in at all.

                            After that I have a nice long grind ahead of me... of Bunnies and stuff... on which Garuda needs the final hit. In total there are roughly 1000 or so kills between me and the +2 Staff. Here we go! (insert bud light here)
