I've never understood how on earth PUP got any stigma, the job is borderline broken.

I entered the exciting and confusing land of Abyssea last night. Went to UleICAN'TSPELL Range and joined a dominion ops partyalliance slaughtering buffalo. I went from 72 to 75 + capped buffer in two hours. That's kind of nuts. Not sure I like it.

Well, pet classes always seem to be misunderstood. Also, PUP is awesome if you know what you're doing. A...lot of people don't know what they're doing.

They need to make a purple !!. And the only way to proc it is Magic Motar, Armor Piercer, Predator Claws, Heavenly Strike, Lamb Chop…and some other bst/smn/pup stuff

PUP got it's stigmata because it's a new job -- it's never been in any other FF before so people don't understand how to play it or how it should work in the party dynamic.

Most other pet job have at least been accepted at some other point in time (DRG when they could pentaspam, SMN in astralburns or as gimpy healers). Even BST was understood to largely be a solo job fairly quickly, and so fit in the party dynamic by simply not being in it. PUP however is so versatile that it doesn't fit one position like every other job does, and so people don't know if they should get it to fill a healer slot, a nuke slot, a DD slot, or a tank slot -- the correct answer to that question is 'yes', which leads to a lot of confusion for a lot of people.

Plus, PUPs are actually (or were, before Abyssea) rare, and so most people had never gotten the opportunity to see how they work. I've lost count how many times party leads have told me to gear up whatever I want because they don't know it that well.
