What job were you on soloing TEs? I’ve gone pup a few times and have been able to *get* TEs but couldn’t keep up. Main issue was holding off on WSing at 50% to avoid Ruby lights.

EDIT: Oh, I just realized you mean time extensions. I was on RDM. Has the added benefit of having decent Amber WSs (which is a light I actually want), especially Sanguine Blade if I sub /BLU.

Today's Accomplishments:
Savant's Earring
Ferine Earring
Both soloed on BST. I'm beginning to think the whole Blue !! stagger is a jip sometimes. I fought Battlerigged Chariot several times before with friends in LS and it never dropped my earring. The one time I go solo it with no blue !!, I get the earring.

I can build Amber on Bst, Pearl on Bst & Smn or Azure with Pup & Blm…but I have no jobs that can build all 3

Wish we could trade luck…even if only for a day ><. I’m about 0/8 without blue and 0/5 with blue on Ferine earring.

Man I wish we were on the same server…all my Bst friends have been to lazy to get ducal guard and don’t like low-manning things pet style lately. I’ve got 2 bst friends that enjoy it and they aren’t always on at the same time.

It's nice actually and I'm actually kind of relieved there's still a place for RDM solo farming. I build Azure lights off Ephemerals first with MM/Beyond/Ultimate. Then I changed to MM/Beyond/RR. MM and Beyond to increase Sanguine Blade damage and so I never have to cast Refresh. Sanguine Blade was good such that I never even had to take out time to apply Stoneskin. And with Khanda+2, it was practically Cure V spam...only damaging the mob while I was at it. Turns out Beyond also increases Ice Spikes and Enblizzard damage. RR of course because the DoT added by it cannot be beat. Killed tier 1 VNMs for a while for Pearl light. Then moved onto Shadow Lizards. Shadow Lizards don't give Amber light, but the Ephemeral mobs that pop in the area sometimes do.

I took the cue from a NIN friend who did it that way. RDM isn't so good at building Ruby light. But eh, that's the one we don't want, right? I'm thinking of trying to get +7 INT rings this way in time.

EDIT: Finally soloed Adze. Instead of using Mounted Champion or Ducal Guard, I stuck with RR/GH/Cloak and Dagger instead. Used 2 Dipper Yuly. In fact, I only would've needed one if the bastard didn't Endoom the first one at around 25% remaining. Alas, he only dropped a Doomstone. FFXI doesn't want me to have Estoqueur's Collar and I have no idea why.

EDIT2: Gawtem. Is it still being a lootwhore if you get all the gear on your own?

Got my first Orison leg seal, two minutes before my Xbox went out with the red ring of death. I needed a week or two off anyway.

So I got NIN to 90 today. I started to merit the stats and the "Other" category as well as weapons. I've heard a lot back and forth about the Group 2 Merits being suck-tastic... so I'm holding off while Im do some research.

Not counting the merits I've used on them so far, my NIN skills look like this:

Katana Skill: 195 (Slow but steady...)
Ninjitsu Skill: 178 (CRAZY skill-ups on worms in Abyssea - La Thein!!! CRAZY!!! 77 - 178 in an hour of cycling the wheel)
Evasion: 265 (A lot of this came from my SMN getting killed a lot in the past 3 years. The rest of the way to the cap should be easier as I start to tank more and more)
Parry: 71 (can someone PLEASE tell me there's an easier way to level this skill? Please? Anything? Anything at all? Is it supposed to hurt this bad?)

Got work to do still on Katana, but with all the Haste, Double Attack, Tripple Attack and 2-3 Hit options out there now... it shouldn't take long. Also... hello skill adjustments in mid Feb. You can't come soon enough!

Ninjitsu looks like it'll be reletively fast... and slowing down a bit near the end... but it's ok.

Evasion/Parry are just a matter of allowing myself to get beat on... here's to gettin my ass kicked!

I did Dynamis for the first time tonight. I'd say more but I'd prefer to just point at my blog rather than type out another recap.
