I honestly hated their back-and-forth mechanic and the "you must wait longer before performing this action" and then the addition of fishing fucking fatigue. I know why they did it, but it just killed any desire I had to level fishing in FFXI.

Oh and the worst part was the fact that if I had the in-game music on, it would automatically change when I got something on the hook. That was irritating. There were many zones in which I liked the music and did not want it interrupted.

In short, They changed it, now it sucks.

Funny thing is fishing was the first skill I maxed in WoW. Lol.

Anyway... accomplishments.

~ Charis toe shoes +1 ... whilst doing so I put up some pretty astounding numbers on my SAM. Skillchaining for over 5k feels pretty nice. We also finished feet +1's for others (DNC, BST, DRG, RNG... idr if there were others)

~ Implimented my cruor exchange program and got my cruor from 575k down to 340k and my gil up to 730k + ... I was pretty much broke before. I realized after the first run that I could make more gil/cruor if I did more runs and only purchased the legs, hands, and feet (6.5k-7k each)to NPC.

Though... now I'm struggling with what to get. I know I need to upgrade from my dinky Ruby Ring but getting another +2 STR seems boring. I saw a Kirin's Osode in the now almost vacant Rolanberry mall but I really don't know if it's a better call than my Hauby +1. I was also thinking of getting a Heed Ring for my DNCandTHF replacing my Ulthalem's for TP and my Wivre for eva in one shot. Peacock Charm is tempting but I know there's better neck peices now. I think I've settled upon searching out ABC's so I can get myself a Boxer's mantle cuz I know that is still the best tanking cape available to me. Only problem is that Rolanberry mall is like 5 people now and only one of them had 5 ABC's and they were for 10k which is 2k over the max I want to pay. Also my LS sometimes does Limbus but getting 75 of the suckers quickly isn't gonna happen.... idk... I realize it's burning a hole in my pocket... but ... I want more shinies!!!!!

Did some more work on my (previously unstarted) ToAU missions. I'm now at Mission 15: The Blck Coffin. Waiting for my buddy to finish Missions 12-14 so that he can join me in the fight and come with me through the remaining missions.

It's always more fun to do the missions with someone else. I think that having a RL buddy doing them with me will help motivate me finish them.

I need Odin and Alexander!!!

Also: Not much of an accomplishment... but I purchased my Mog Bonnanza Marbles today. *fingers crossed*

Got the Vunkerl boss and caturae in a pickup group (well, 2 separate groups). All I have left now is to get Kuth and I get the abyssite of awesomeness. A linkshell person has offered to tank it for me, but we need more to be safe. I also won the lot for the Aoidos' Matinee from Sippoy, which just adds to the pile. All I gotta say is that between that and my Aoidos' Hongreline (and instrument of course), 2:40 capped marches before Nightingale/Troubadour is incredible. That means it will last 5:20 with Troubadour on a single cast. Plus it brings my song spellcasting to -11% without fast cast. Still no manteel, but that's also getting to the point where it may not be necessary anymore.

I hate having to give up my wind torque for it, but it's not entirely necessary anymore, since base skills alone are more than enough to cap the more important songs. I'll still hang onto it for the time being though.

Also, Re: fish... I haven't looked at it since Abyssea came out, but I know not longer before that it was actually cheaper to rod off the auction house straight up than it was to buy the fish and turn them in. It wouldn't surprise me if that was still the case. However, seeing as you're getting pretty close I imagine that's more or less a moot point now.

Last night I went into an aby to finish off my BLM... it was a freaking mandies party. I'll put the rest in the peeves thread, but tl;dr: mandies xp sucks and I only got 1.5 levels in 3 hours.

People still do Visions xp? I would have thought scars would at least be used for the chance at some AF feet (though it seems the demand for feet has gone down dramatically since Heroes was released). Plus, all I ever see now are OP parties. One you go op you'll never stop, right?

Kind of a big weekend.

Ferine Mantle Mine!!!! Was a pretty fun fight. Whm, Mnk, Smn for the first 85%. A Bst friend showed up when Yaanei was around 15% for some additional support. I was spamming Predator Claws (with RR/A&O and a refresh atma). Things got a little ugly at the last 10% and we had a whole LS following us around since we had a couple ‘close call’ incidents. But we never lost claim and won.

Killed my 8th boss. All that’s left is Glaviod and I can get that !! abysstie. Possibly get into a Shinryu run after that if I’m lucky. The 200k Brew abyssite would be pretty stellar to have. Sitting on 2m curor with plenty of things in-mind to brew.

Capped ALL my job/category merits. I now have no use for xp other than to fix buffers since I don’t carry warps anymore lol.

Joined a Gnawtooth Gary run. Got my 8 pup seals and just after that, the xp party next to us had pup feet in a chest that they gave me (right place at the right time I guess).

Spoke to an old Bst friend who jumped servers (one of the best Bsts I’ve seen) and let me in on a little secret to soloing Amluluk on Bst. Takes some prep work but I’m going to see if it’s possible. I think he’s killed it once or twice (he’s working on legs+2). Worth a shot eh?

Got Atma of Beyond though not as impressive as I hoped with Shiva. Haven’t tried on Blm yet…hoping for better results.

Decided on a Boxer's Mantle. Took me forever to find anyone even selling ABC's and then was really surprised to find them selling for 10-11k each. Now all I can think of needing for gear I can buy from AH is a upgrade STR ring from my +4 Ruby and a Heed Ring to replace my Ulthalem's. So even tho I didn't need them I noticed stacks of shihei had dropped back down from 90k+ to the low 60's and picked up another 12 pack.

Got a couple of Atmas. Razed Ruins and Cloak and Dagger. Cloak and Dagger was a little more difficult than we'd anticipated to be quite honest. Tonberries are just simply always a pain in the ass. getting aggro was a slight problem while waiting around for the TI NM to pop whilst also competing with another group. We ended up getting a member of their group into ours so they could get the Caller's w/e it was. On the actual NM one of our tanks was Throat Shotted and died in the first moments. There was plenty of time to heal him.. idk what happened there. The part that was most frustrating for me about this NM was his teleporting. It was just annoying. It messed with my targeting so when I'd try to WS it said I couldn't because apparently though I could still melee him I was targeting myself for WSs. Idk.. weird, imHo.

Funny but the alliances were run by the same dude and had many of the same people but after the C and D we disbanded... only to rejoin after the leader immediately started a /sh for RR. People in our group as well as the leader were pretty good at telling people what to expect... except that the RR atma NM splits, lol. I wasn't expecting that and I was on the wiki page reading about other people's attempts while paying more attention to what was happening in the run. Apparently I missed that part. We did fine. A few people had to be told NOT to TP on it but other than that it went pretty smooth. Ended up getting the Katana Head piece and something else I didn't need/want/ or lot on. Wish I coulda lotted high enough for that SAM cape though.

Anyway looking forward to solo'n with RR and CnD on my DNC.

Well today I went over to camp Drooling Daisy for a Magian trial when lo and behold who was walkin around the lake? None other than Simurgh! Got a dnc and whm friend to help me kill him and got the Trotter boots to drop ^^ yay me! BTW did I mention I tanked him on BLU/RNG? =P

Congrats!!! I wants those... yes... I've gotten horribly spoiled having the DNC crackows (12%) plus Choco Jig lately... I wants the SAM movement speed ones too. One of the main things that makes FFxi less fun is simply the feeling like you're running through invisible Jello.

Yeah, I died the first time since my DNC buddy was on rdm and not geared for curing, then a THF and WHM claimed, but they went down pretty fast, I got raised and unweakened in time to see them go down and reclaim ^^ damn Simmy raged right when I had her down to about 5%, so I 2hred and went to town =P twas exciting to say the least

Finished up all the Emp+1 armor for Scars of Abyssea for my 3 jobs. Also got most of the accessories, but Adze is being stingy with the Estoqueur's Collar.

Got Suirin Obi and Karin Obi. Decided it was finally time to get off my behind and finish all 8 obis.

Soloed Lachrymater on BST. Was easy. Dropped Witchstone. Slightly undermined by the fact Witchstone is only 150K now...

9/9 on zone bosses and 5/5 on Caturae. Now if only my LS would let me in on a Shinryu run.

Did 4 zone bosses and one cat yesterday, and my ninth zone boss just now.

Then I missed a Yaanei shout by a couple of minutes, and a Raja shout yesterday while I was doing bosses, but those two are now all that stands between me and Shinryu.

And I've gotten almost a whole level on BLM from the runs when I was not on WHM.
