0/1 on that new DNC version of Blau Dolch. Was helping somebody with it yesterday. Not so great for her, but at least I got a title!

SE is pretty mean, making DNC's damage dealing weapon drop off such an NM. DNC isn't exactly a job that people drop what they're doing to help somebody improve.

What is this new weapon prz?? And yeah.. I love how most high level Dnc items require ridiculous amounts of help that many feel is a waste of time to get cuz "Dnc/LOLz".

Accomplishment-

Acquire 3rd and 4th Gk merit... finally spent points for Overwhelm... and surprisingly I just acquired SAM relic body and hands from last two Dyna runs. Now I'm 5/6 DNC and 5/5 SAM (belt = worthless). Full SAM relic looks soooooo p!mp until one sees the stats are so g!mp. We also got the Attestation needed for the relic someone's going for and cleared Bastok for several people... very clean run.

BLU job quest finished. I fear this job. I've helped countless BLU gather spells. It's almost like DNC was made for helping them.

Campaign Union drop - Dragon Meat.... I've never gotten something from Union worth so much. Sold quick too. Usually I get nothing or junk hides barely worth bypassing the NPC prices for.

Got COR job quest done last night. {Death}less ... but man... I really had to wait on them stupid Imps right outside of Ilrusi... had to pull several of them only to have em repop before I could get others to safely follow me... /sigh... I hate True(sight/hearing)

Warped outta there with my Tav. Ring and was almost immediately greeted by "Plz Help" "CoP 2.3 PLZ HELP 8/8" ... so I helped ... got drawn in early ... had to do again for the leader who was still in Tav... so I got Doomed 2x... it seemed way quicker than the chat box was indicating and the second one I got Death Ray'd while his back was turned =/ ...but they got past it.

While I was helping my BLM buddy popped Sewer something for me cuz he'd wrecked the NM the night before so now I got a new lil Jelly Ring, woot.

The NM is Scylla in Beaucedine Glacier (S).

The weapon is called Papilio Kirpan.

Been killing Scylla with my LS the past week, currently 0/3 on anything other than the pigment ><. It's a tough damn fight, but that Dagger is so hot. Papillo Kirpan Dmg 30 Latent Effect Dmg 34(5?) Hidden Effect Attack 10, Acc 5~.

So I duo'd Barbaric Weapon on Dnc/nin with my Sam/nin Buddy. I think a solo would be easy, just gotta stay on the Violent Flourish Stuns. works pretty well, didn't get drop though.

I've reactivated my account because I miss the place, and I'm planning to do a month or two, then deactivate for three months again, and repeat until I don't care. I've been trying for casual play in these few days, campaign battles, besieged, selling stuff that's taking up space, etc. I'm even less interested in endgame than I was before, just in unlocking stuff and having fun beating on monsters.

I did manage to get a Neptune staff for 450k, the last one I needed of the eight HQs. And I've been selling three stacks of silvers by the warp taru for 1500... which means that the silvers I sold paid for the staff.

But I'm still playing my other game during this. I've had an account on an old text MMO (Gemstone IV) for quite a long time, and had decided to finally get in there and give stuff away and cancel the account. Then I finally began to understand things about playing that game that I wish I had figured out years ago. So I've been pwning locked treasure chests (which you get xp for) during the past three months, and working on the special skills that help with picking the locks. I'm doing far better than I ever did before, and it's been kind of fun. Besides, waiting for people to bring in locked boxes is very compatible with reading the intarwebs in another window.

Only thing that didn't drop this weekend: Hocho ;; 0/4+ years

Crawler's Nest map.

Easily the most rewarding quest I've done yet, as it was a great excuse to simply run around exploring.
There's also some wonderful lore on the stone monuments you have to find. I'm particularly fond of the one that reveals the Tarutaru were plotting a global conquest at one point.

I was actually about halfway through when I started tonight but I literally ran into my friend as he was logging in for the night so we went back and hit up every monument. Ok we didn't do Sauromugue Champaign or Batalia Downs, but those were optional.

All told, it was 5 hours of exploring.
Why can't I have nights go like this more often?

Finally finished the first Genkai quest tonight.
I think my favorite part was where I lost ~2k exp trying to get Exoray Mold solo. There was lots of dying and lots of skillups on that one, but I finally managed to corner one without a whole bunch of links. Damn those things hit hard. It was almost taking stoneskin down as soon as I put it back up. Lesson learned from that fight: Take off Composure after you're done buffing or your recasts will kill you. I survived by desperately nuking my way to victory, ending the fight with 11 hp, no stoneskin and poison ticking. Thank goodness for Warp.
I'm not sure this whole soloing thing is for me, but then I don't have /ninja leveled either.

Got my BRD AF2, planted the key item ring in Xarcabard so i can do AF3 soon and get my hands on that very nice Choral Justachorps (sp?). Also had my first campaign, very fun. ^^

These three words don't make sense to me, but kudos for finding a group that made it work.

Out of curiosity, how well does thief solo? Is that high evasion as sexy in action as it is on paper?

I tried something outside the normal cookie cutter methods and it seems to be working.

I trying to get some exp using BLM this weekend and all the nice camps where taken. Even the one where you fight raptor pets.

Then I went BLM/BST in Sky and it worked nicely. Being BLM main gave me access to errants gear to compensate for missing charm pieces I would have on BST. Missed charms = sleep/bind for possible pet and prey. I can Nuke near the end to speed up the process. I was making about 10-12k an hour pending on how often the dolls used meltdown (this includes FoV). Only down side was if I wanted to cast I there were only 4 camps availible instead of the 12 camps for BST.

I have to try this in the past against some dijinns since I have access almost all elements (no light magic)

The evasion is awesome... the chiseling your foe away with the weakest damn weapon in the world is the sucky part (see latest peeves section). Soloing's frustration is compounded by the fact a huge part of your damage dealing is from SA which relies on your sleep bolts to proc . When they do not or when they proc for just enough time for you to waste SA, it is a bit frustrating. Also I /DNC for absolute survivability instead of /NIN. I'd rather be able to heal myself and debuff the mobs than get a few more misses from them. Cuz yeah.. evasion-wise, THF rocks.... I was out in Zi'Ta and nothing could hit me... course I'm capped Evasion atm from DNC. At one point I had linked some Goobue Parasites and a MNK came over, killed the add for me, and said "Be more careful next time" His was in the right place but if he woulda /checked my HP, he woulda seen I was basically full and the leech was about to die. I bet that one woulda given me Beastman's blood too.
