I had no intention of trying to camp both. I found it best to focus on the one until I got what I want, then move on to the other. Their respawn times are far too short to treat them like Argus or Mysticmaker.

And things could be worse, I have a measly Acc/Atk ring set. The only hope I have of seeing Morrigan's robe is if I win the Mog Bonanza.

Yeah, I'm trying to just get Hyakinthos done with before I do Lamina, but it's taking so long that it makes me want to try to multi-task. It's not so much about the pieces themselves at this point even though they are a pretty significant improvement over my current TP rings for most of my jobs, it's just that these are the last 2 things I need from the horribly stingy new batch of NMs and I can't wait to be done with it, lol.

I really am kinda stupified at how S-E took so many steps to make things more casual player-friendly, then went and added a plethora of NMs that embody everything that is terrible about the older parts of the game and gave them some pretty nice drops.

2/5 STR merits down... /sigh... and cuz I've been only able to be in bits and pieces ... every merit point was campaign approved for the 2nd. Now 1/9 mps for that 3rd STR merit. Something tells me I need to just buckle down and pound the other 3 (27 mp's?) out and do nothing else.

Fun in Delkfutt's Tower tonight as a level 45 RDM/BLM.

Aggroed Mimas without realizing it was a notorious monster mixed in with the other Gigas. Ended up having to kite it around the hallway a little bit when MP started running low and Mimas started hundred fisting. That was a new experience, but I definitely need some more practice kiting things.

I also managed to aggro Porphyon and 2 other Gigas all at the same time. I was able to keep Porphyon slept while I finished off the other two. I thought for sure my Sleeps would get resisted but I made it through alive, somehow.

Lowmaned Anuya-Somethingorothercrazyassname (he's a Quatrub in the mire) with some friends. Did not get drop, but got pretty good at zone nuking/doting mobs. Was good practice.

Turned 30 and wife and I were gonna watch a movie, but instead she just did homework and I went on our Run to Limbus and low and behold:

I was 2nd on the list to recieve it ^^ so got my Homam Cosicales last night ^^ Now 1/5 on homam lol but feel like i've gotten the most useful piece as I play alot of THF and some PLD.

You definitely got the more unique/harder to replace piece for those jobs, Dusk(or Askar Manopolas in PLD's case) can hold you over in the other 2 slots for a decent while until you can get the others to drop, congrats.


Lava's Ring for me finally, one more NM(Lamina) to go and I'm done camping anything for a pretty long while.

MKD Mission 10 complete!!!! 2nd attempt cuz the first was filled with people who only thought they knew what to do. Very patient group. After I answered the initial /sh in WG, I double checked my Key Items and found I was 8/9 ... we had to wait for some people to get outta Sky so I went a-running. Thank you Chocobo Jig... I thought my last ??? was in the area where the fight was gonna take place cuz I'd left a note on my map that I needed help getting beyond the pressure doors... this was not the case and I bee-lined to the other questionable spot, found it, and returned right before the last member was ready.

Fight went pretty smooth. Simply used an MA macro, myself. Gobbies went down w/o any hitch... Naja attempted to fight back after I 2hr'd but our Pld took back the hate and saved my Sam arse. I didn't know til after the fight that I was supposed to turn in the Key item "keys" I'd gotten from the mini-pansions in to the Tenshodo ... I guess I assumed (ass+u+me) I needed them for later parts of the missions. So last night I turned in 1 for aCP, 2 for MKD, and 2 for Shantoto... got 2 hi-elixers (best), 1 slab of granite, 1 raxa, 1 PoS augmented Silk body pc (+1 Int, -1 Mag. Acc, and something stupid like Resist Sleep +1, NPC for 7k).

Funny but when I checked FFxiah.com today to see if any of them sold... my 2 hi-elixers were bought by a member of the group who helped complete mission 10 and one of the first people who ever helped me out when I first started playing that was outside my LS.

Helped a Blu friend get several spells as well... Hysteric Barrage, Yawn... and something else from the Lamia mobs. Ez peeezy... all w/in 1hr, I'm pretty sure.

Some other stuff I did this past 3-5 days:

-Dinged 88 with my fishing mule, which i thought was a bit of a milestone, in that I no longer have any restrictions holding him back from 100. It litterly took 5 charges with my pelican ring to get .2 skill Crafts in FFXI are broken... but BRING ON THE RYUGU!
-attempted scylla twice. (new NM that drops DNC/COR dagger much like Blau Dolch) did not survive either attempt lol. Thinking that this might get camped an alot more and better strategies figured out soon to include a party of less than 6. Prices of Angel Skin on Valefor are hovering around 1mil. and along with this dagger, this guy drops the skin also, on a 4hr re-pop timer. (the accomplishment being getting a group of folks to experiment)
- finshed buying my mog marbles on 6 different mules ><
- Killed 6 Kirins on Monday, got 6 ososdes, 1 w.legs, 4 poles, 1 N.body, bunch of synth matt's
- Took dancer to kirin on the last pop lol. only have 2/5 merits in haste samba, and no tier2 but I have a pretty good build, and actually never missed a single step on him. Died alot from stonega IV but i have some strategies for next time, when we do kirins and we have enough people that i'm not needed on another job. (We killed 4 smns, and straight tanked them lol)

even I was pretty 'wtf' at it, I had left myself at the camp while at work, got home and g/f tells me window opened 10 minutes ago, I sit down, it pops behind me and somehow 3 of the other 4 people there don't see it and the 4th was being a dingbat and casting blink/stoneskin and I end up making the slowest claim ever, lol.

I need to round up Virtuoso's for DRK at some point but still 7 levels from that, so I'm done with the new NMs for a bit.

I can't complain too much, the new NMs' drop rates are made up for in their relatively quick respawn times (in my opinion). Not nearly as bad as some NMs, like Argus, for example.

There's still some pretty nasty lotteries(Mind Hoarder took me upwards of 4-5 hours to pop multiple times), but at least most of them are timed spawns at the very least. I've also lucked out that generally my competition has been bad at camping NMs at general, people who can't focus for a 30 minute window and get all antsy, running around/killing nearby mobs/casting spells.

It was pretty amusing when I got home and my g/f was 10 minutes into the 30 minute window and she just goes "I CAN'T HANDLE THIS PRESSURE TAKE THE FUCKING CONTROLLER", lol.

An LSmate also pointed out that the MAB+5/MAcc+5 earring set would technically be slightly better than my current Drone + Moldavite setup and I pretty much went LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU. Extended amounts of NM camping go a long way towards burning people out on the game, especially if things aren't dropping.
