Got Alchemy to 25 last night.

What were you making?

At first Silent Oil but the market for those gets saturated fast so you rarely make a profit unless it's a GP item and the supply is down for once. Tried Sairui-Ran but they just don't sell so I'm stuck with a bunch of stacks of Silent Oil and Sairui-Ran taking up all of my DB space.

I do make a nice profit off Echo Drops though but I can't skill up off those and I only have 7 AH spaces to sell things so my skill ups items clog up my inventory while I wait for the Echo Drops to sell.

There was someone in line ahead of me, but he had a bad DC, so I moved up and got them.

To rub salt into that wound, he's gonna log back in to find out THREE pairs of Etoile Toe Shoes dropped today.

Got Alchemy to 25 last night.



At first Silent Oil but the market for those gets saturated fast so you rarely make a profit unless it's a GP item and the supply is down for once. Tried Sairui-Ran but they just don't sell so I'm stuck with a bunch of stacks of Silent Oil and Sairui-Ran taking up all of my DB space.

I do make a nice profit off Echo Drops though but I can't skill up off those and I only have 7 AH spaces to sell things so my skill ups items clog up my inventory while I wait for the Echo Drops to sell.

The Blinding Potions might've been better from 20-27 and then you could've just made those into bolt heads 26-31 (Smithing 14) and then bolts if you had the woodworking to do so. I ended up skipping out on the silent oil since back when I was that level it costed too much for the ingredients to make it. Only way to break even back then on silent oil would've been if you were able to HQ them easily.

Well I've been using Sairui-ran and Echo Drops to get my gil back. Echo Drops sell pretty fast even if the price is pretty volatile due to the huge supply of them on the AH.

Only problem with Sairui-Ran toolbags is that every time I put a stack of them up on the AH i get undercut by about 3 people overnight and they don't sell as a result ; ;

No way. Bragging about it (and the one-kill gets for Chaotic Eye and Sound Blast) are in no way going to earn me karmic come-uppance. I'm obviously just magic.

Now that I'm past the four-levels-worth-of-Dhalmels-just-for-Healing-Breeze stage, anyway.


And yeah, Alchemy 20-28 is kind of squiggly. Fast or economical, take your pick. For me it was Goblin Mask desynths > Mokuto (so. effing. slow.) > three stacks of silent oil in sobbing desparation > sairui-ran, which sold slowly but at least they sold.

Yeah that's true about the Echo Drops. That was one of the things I used to rake in on when I got alchemy to 80ish lol. They sell better on weekends especially if you put them up like friday night. Sometimes I'd make about 25ish stacks and by the end of the weekend they'd be gone.

It's because Echo Drops are now cheaper at the AH than from the NPC. I used to buy them from the NPC only, now I buy them from the AH only.

True but they are profitable enough to make my gil back. Well if it weren't for people undercutting on items guaranteed to sell anyway. I can understand if there is an oversupply of Sairui-ran but there are only ever 2-3 stacks of Sairui-Ran tools on the AH at a time and they will always sell. What is the point on undercutting on a Low Supply High Demand item?
