RoZ added some islands and new areas on the main two contenets
CoP added a new deimention and eve more areas in the main contenets
ToUA added East areas
???? will add south areas (Mithra homeland)
???? will add west areas (maybe a new race)
???? will add North areas (maybe 1 or 2 new classes)
???? will be the last expansion adding in the last bit of big content (guessing thisone)

Hmmmm, if I remember correctly, Kuzotz is the old home of the Galka, and Elshimo is supposed to be the old home of the Mithra. So we already got those in RoZ.
Ofcourse there are many who don't care about the stories, and many who don't even know that Elsimo is called Elshimo. (They seem to think it is called Kazham. But that is only the town the airship goes to.)

Elshimo is just the temporary home of the Mithra. The Mithra homeland is further to the south.

Theres nothing wrong with playing a Diffrent Gender unless you only do it to get stuff from guys pretending to be a female in RL. Thats just Using people and using others is just wrong.

I'm just strick with Rping =\ thats that.

Agreed that it's wrong to manipulate people into giving you free stuff. Then again, if someone is dumb enough to assume that every female character he sees belongs to a female player, then it's kind of his fault too.

I've been a roleplayer for 20 years or so, starting with tabletop RPGs like D&D. My friends and I were all male, but at no point did any of us have a problem with one or the other playing a female character. If we had insisted on only playing our own gender, that would have severely limited us in our character creation options.

If you're a good roleplayer, you will know that there is a difference between the player and the character, but you'll act as though the player doesn't even exist - which means treating a female character as though they were female, and vice versa. That's the whole point of playing a role.

Excatly... If there RPing a Female character then so be it. I just cant stand it when they use others from manipulating people. and yea if peopel fall for it thats pretty dumb of them but still!

But still what? I played a Mithra for a while and later on a Female Hume, and I had people falling all over themselves to help me or send me things with no prompting from me. It's not always the person on the other side of the character who is initiating this kind of behavior.

I think the original intent was to have the mithras and Galkas compliment each other. One is overly-female looking and one is overly-male looking. The problem is that mithras have really good melee stats, and galkas have lots of hp (for whatever you'd want that for- WAR maybe?), so if you want those stats and you're the wrong gender, you're screwed.

I'd rather see two new races with the same stats as those, but gender switched. I don't think male mithras would look right and I DEFINATELY don't want to see a female Galka.

In the end, however, I think it's unnecessary. The game's been out for years and years and works fine. Creating new races, or sexes of races, so you feel more comfortable interacting with other players is unnecessary, especially when the guys that use mithra or female hume to manipulate or weird you out can easily continue doing that, and probably with more success consdering you'd be even more apt to consider them geniunely female.

You know what would be a good idea though? If we could transfer the gender of our character from one server to another. That would be awesome.

Base stats don't mean anything in this game, only HP and MP. The others (STR, DEX, etc) require too many points to make a marked difference in performance, and the variance across races simply isn't that high. As for Galka, high HP is good for tanking, Souleater, and not being as frail when pulling hate in general. They pay for it with low MP. However, it's not a limitation any more than HP is a limitation to a Tarutaru tank. Both can work around it.

Anyone that chooses a race for its stats despite liking a different race more made the wrong choice. Then again, there's always Plasticsurgeon. Won't fix how people see you, but you'll at least look pretty to yourself.

Male mithra already exist in the game although you can't play them and you only see one.

I only skimmed through the thread so i dunno whether people mentioned Lehko Habhoka or not but he's an male mithra npc that SE has put in game

For those of you who want to know what male mithra will look like in ffxi if they bothered to put more in they'll probably be looking like this:



I do wish they made male mithra playable from the start but i doubt you'll ever see them playable in FFXI

Well here's hoping we get them in FFXIV!
