  • Chains of P. and Rise of the Z. info needed

    Hey everyone, how's it going.

I am buying the FFXI Vana'Diel Collections in about a week, and I was wondering about some of the major differences between the Chains of Promathia, and the Rise of the Zilart expansion packs are. Also what would be helpful is which one most of you guys prefer and why, and if you can play with people on Chains of P. if you have Rise of Z.

    Thanks.

Re: Chains of P. and Rise of the Z. info needed

I recommend you register them all now that you got the collection version of the game :D
there are the main continents that comes with FFXI alone. register/installing the expansion or not, everyone will still be sharing this part and can play together.

Rise of Zilart and Chains of Promathia are like special chapters of story lines. They both give additional zones, especially RZ zones are popular levelling ground you'll be visitting a lot from level 20 to 75.

I don't want to give much spoiler, so here's some information about the expansion ^^

the original FFXI deals a lot more with the conflict within each nations. It gives you a little bit of history of each race and their countries.

Rise of Zilart gives you an introduction to the 2 ancient races that supposedly no longer exist since tens of housands years ago: Kuluu and Zilart. It introduces the Mithra home land, origin of Galka, old ancient temple left by the Kuluu, acient buildings floating on the sky, gilgamesh and his underground activities.

CoP imo comes later, it gives even more details about the already introduced 2 races above. It gives you some back bone history of the world of vanadiel, ancient pact with bahamut, featuring samurai from the far eastern continent, the history of avatars and various gods, etc.

And the eastern continent is going to be added with the next ToA expansion xD

      Hi everyone

I use to come to this website a lot when the game was recently released and learned a lot about but it has been almost a year I haven't read anything about this. So, sorry for sounding so newbie.

I live in Australia and I can't wait any longer, since Australia always gets screwed in games, I'm going to order it from the US.

I was hoping if anyone would recommend me where to buy the PC game from and what sort of deals are there to buy the game with/without expansion and monthly pay.

I checked in Amazon and they have:

      - Final Fantasy XI Online for $42.95

      - Final Fantasy XI: The Vana’diel Collection for $28.99

What is the difference between those two?

Do u know any better deals as to where I can buy the PC game from?

      Questions:

      1) What is the minimum monthly pay?..1 month, 3 months etc?

      2) When the game is released in Australia will I be able to play in the Australian severs?

      Thanks

Final Fantasy XI Online = Original Game and Rise of Zilart Expansion

Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Collection = Original Game and Rise of Zilart and Chains of Promathia

        (aka get Vana'diel Collection)

As far as I know US$30 is pretty much the standard price, and it'd take some searching for a better deal (if there even is one).

        1) Minimum monthly pay is US$12.95, extra characters are $1 a month each.

        2) All players from across the world gather on each server, there are no region specific servers as of now. I doubt they would change that when FFXI comes to Australia.

        EDIT: Can't spell...

            Thanks for the fast reply

Yeh I thought so too, it has been almost a year since I have reed about this game and I was sure that it should be out in Australia but when I called the stores and searched the net I found:

Release date for Europe : TBA
            Release date for Australia: TBA

            Also if :

            - Final Fantasy XI Online = Original Game and Rise of Zilart Expansion -- $42.95
            - Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Collection = Original Game and Rise of Zilart and Chains of Promathia -- $28.99

How come Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Collection is cheaper than Final Fantasy XI Online?

i.e. Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Collection has all three : original game, and the two expansions but Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Collection has the original and only one expansion.

            Thanks

Could be because no one buys it anymore and they didn't update their prices.

Oh and hey hopefully we'll end up on the same server so we can play together.

Re: Chains of P. and Rise of the Z. info needed

the DVD collection came out later with lower price to attract more new players.
the original pack at $40+, that was like the price when the game first came out. It has gotten lower and lower already. So the site you're checking is obviously out of date.

The official site itself also lists the price. 29.99 for DVD and only 19.99 for original PC version.

FFXI has been released in Australia, and it has been for a long time now. PC only though.

Yeah i know in sweden this game is very rare. Its near impossible to find in stores, the only luck ull have is in internet stores in sweden. But i bought my "vanadiel" collection for just 79 SEK which is say 10$

I guess due to so much overwhelming interest for WoW especially in sweden, FFXI drops ALOT in both interest and price

But they told me at the store that they would have new stock for the PC once the X360 version releases which i guess is good news

Re: Chains of P. and Rise of the Z. info needed

Here in Australia I found the game for $70 au which is about $50 us at (games warehouse). Looks like if I order the game from Finland or Sweden is cheaper.

Like if I can order the game from Sweden:

                          $10 game
                          $22 delivery at most.

So I'll save $18 which then I can use for one monthly pay

"G-Tra" and "Nemesismo" can u please tell me which store did u order it from?..does it have a web address?

By the way I can order the game from Sweden and I can pay the monthly fee here in Australia right?..i.e, it doesn't have to be form the same country where I bought the game from, right?

                          Thanks
