For the love of all things that are holy and good on this Vana'diel, do not name your character Cloud, or Tifa, or Strife, or Terra, or Cid, or Yuffie, or Sephiroth, or any of the characters from any of the Final Fantasy Genre. Please I beg of you. Define your own path, create your own power. DON'T BORROW SOMEONE ELSE'S. (except for avatars you can have a fragment of their powers)
Other than that, welcome! Get a controller, it'll make your life easier. Set up macros. Do not put stupid things like 'DO YOU FEEL THAT BABY YEAH YEAH' /ma "Raise" <t> into party chat, or say chat. Do not do stupid macro emotes like /em gets pissed off. /ja "Beserk" <me> It's quite annoying and leads to blacklisting, you don't need to announce to the world that you are provoking, do not put that in /sh macro.
The Last auction price item is not the standard price you should be setting or setting higher, you could sell items for lower price to move the merchandise faster, this way you can get gil faster, always look around at all the shops before you buy something at the auction house. check out www.ffxi-atlas.com and ffxi.somepage.com for information regarding where to purchase certain items. DO NOT CAMP GUILD STORES AND BUY OUT ALL THE BRONZE INGOTS AND RESELL THEM OR I WILL PERSONALLY KILL YOU. (STUPID SE, FIX THIS ALREADY)
To make money, get signet from the gate guard, and go kill stuff, stack it into a bundle of 12 crystals of whatever type, and list them on the auction house. Crystal stacks range in price from 2k to 10k per stack depending on server.
When you bazaar items, it's per individual items, so don't list 12 fire crystals in your bazaar for 8,000, do some math and divide it by 12 and that's the individual crystal price or you can check other people's bazaar's for the crystal price, just make sure they have a bag next to their name and you can check them, or else it's deemed rude to check them.
I can't think of what other crap I need to say here so I'm going to stop.
