So because of the high prices im forced to buy my gear from vendors.
The problem is that i cant find any, except weapons (im a BLM/6). Maybe im just too low to buy any mage-gear yet but i want to make sure.

Thx in advance, stay in school

Mage-esque gear is easier to buy from vendors in Windhurst, shopping for gear in Sandoria usually gives me warrior-esque clothes.

But I only know of the two main EQ shops, so meh.

Well, if you started in Windy, mage gear is actually fairly easy to come by. For the first ten levels, you don't really -need- anything other than what is sold in Port Windurst @ the armor/weapon shop. At level ~15 the Kingdom Tunic I think it is becomes a very good investment, as do Ermite Rings. The +1 rings are usefull by not required. I think when I did BLM the only HQ anything I had was my wand and my Kingdom Tunic (which isn't "+1" but is an HQ item).

Everything else up until level 29 was more or less normal quality. Half of the stuff I used was actually from my main, and was WHM gear (+MND) that I had left over. I've found personally (as Taru) its actually better for me to have less +INT gear, etc. because I had a problem of taking too much hate. The lower stats mean less damage, which means less hate. With Taru, the MP isn't really waisted per se, since I still always had enough at the start of every battle.

Up until level ten, "standard" gear does mean you have to be a little more careful while soloing, but doesn't hurt a BLM the same way it would hurt, say, a Ninja. A Ninja with stanard gear from level 10-20 gets eaten alive. A nin with all the best gear gets eaten alive a little less.

If you can only afford one or two peiece of above average equipment, go for it. If not, then try getting standard +MP gear if you can. More resists with standard gear, but more MP means more spells too. As long as it averages out, who cares?

Something I've heard said around these forums, Good gear doesn't make a bad player better. Good gear makes a good player great. Or something like that?

Glad to help. Just keep in my mind, my perspective is from the Tarutaru point of view... I have a lot of MP to begin with. If you're Hume, the +MP basic gear is probably a good idea anyhow. As for starting over it is certainly an option, but there's also the fun of trying to get to windy at low level XD

          Call it an adventure!

I wouldnt say restart just so you have access to the gear in Windy, especially if you've spent time levelling, gaining crystals, selling etc.

Id recommend getting a Linkshell, even if it is a bad one, there are usually members in LSs who will ask over chat that if 'Anyone is in {Town X} can they pick up {Items X Y Z}', Ive done this a lot for LS members, and even for people if they just send me a tell.

Restart if you must, but you may not need to.

              Re: Vendor-gear

easiest is to create a mule in the other 2 nations. of course, that means an extra $2 a month, but it's worth it. triple the AH space and you can get gear from one nation and sell it in the others that don't carry it for some nice gil.

              Thanks Yyg!

                  Fishy

                  There once was fish,

                  Whom made a perfect dish

                  To a giant fish.

                  The giant fish was caught,

                  By a Mithra which sought

                  To fill her hunger.

                  The Mithra was slayed,

By a monster whom would raid

                  The land.

                  What have we learned?
