hey lol leave the ghetto plds alone (war/whm... yes some ppl think it means a pld with shitty gear). Just remeber all of the older players can just hit up bubramia to level same lvl range and yes you can lvl there lmao

The WAR/WHM and WHM/WAR combo came from the Xbox Magazine that had the beta disc in it. The authors of that made a little section for "How to Start FFXI". In it they refrenced the Subjob NPCs comments on the exsample saying thos combos will work. So now noobs are doing it. Thats where that came from.

And that is why you don't put MMO's in the hands of XBL owners, unless they had copious experience with each.

Half of them probably still think that the game will have chat support.

          copious.... i like that word.

also i'd like to add, you cant take a game as complex as ffxi or most other mmo's and WRITE A FRICKIN STRATEGY GUIDE WITH IT AND FIT IT INTO 95 PAGES OR EVEN BETTER YET AS MEDIALINK SAID, WRITE A QUICK START GUIDE ON SOME QUARTER PAGE BLURB.

I don't understand. How can these people who write these magazines be mentally retarded when it comes to FFXI? I guess they play the game all of 5 minutes and spew idiocy all over their magazines.

Because as we all know, someone who has half a brain that has played FFXI knows that those job combo's don't work very well together.

ive watched this review online that all they complain about when you start out is that you kill rabbits. ok thats true to an extent but they made such a big deal about it in the review. what game isnt like that? wow has the same type of things too. gnolls? wolfs? bandits?

you cant write a review on a mmo w/o playing through it. basing a mmo on the first 3 hours of game play you have is totally and utterly retarded.

Re: I'm afraid of the day FFXI X360 goes retail.

They're giant, fucking, hypocryts. In EQ, for the FUCKING MAJORITY OF YOU GAMING TIME, you get a quest, run somewhere for 3 hours, kill a rat, go back, and get experiences.

FFXI is leaps and bounds above this, because in the midst of you trying to kill a rabit, some Orc might come out of nowhere. The best thing those Other MMOs do is to make you able to PLAY an Orc.

Ohhhhhhh, I'm an orc now! I go Smash. Now everyone KNOWS I'm 12 years old.

Other MMOs suck. They're retarded. That's a fact. Get used to it.

                Edit:

Although, in EQOA, when I was getting ass raped by a monster, and I ran by a guard, the guard came in and killed the monster for me

Wish the outpost guards in FFXI did that -.- That would be a fix for MPKing in a LOT of areas. . .

I didn't see that article but I was going to mention that a LOT of the FFXI reviews and blurbs say stuff like this. They're trying to explain how flexible the job / subjob system is by saying you can make any combo you want, then use WAR/WHM as an example. I've seen this in several places.

Because they play WoW. <sarcasm>And of course, WoW is the best MMORPG of all time and anything that's not WoW or just like WoW sucks.</sarcasm>

These guys will go away once they have to pay. They'll just move on to some FPS or driving game that doesn't cost extra.

Funny thing about FFXI is that you can do numerous things on THE SAME CHARACTER =o

Get bored with being RDM (but whho in their right mind does!?!?!?), play BLM for a different side of things.

Most MMOs have you start as one thing, have you stuck as that till a certain level, then allowing you to branch off.

FFXI lets you do that, and still switch. So if you're bitching about not getting invites as a WAR, or your Sky LS not needing you as a melee, you can still come there as a mage and be useful in another way. That's why I like FFXI so much, if I get bored with RDM (and I just got 75 like a month ago, and I havent even gotten my first merit, and there are so many things I want to do/see/kill/pillage. . . ) I can raise BRD or RNG or WAR or MNK for a different take on things.

Nor do you have to "Start from scratch", per se, because your money, your capped skills and your old gear can still be used.

On my mule I have a set of Royal Footmans gear for my lvl10-14 melee and The lvl 15 Sandy gear for my lvl 15-20 melee. I just keep recycling them and I never have to buy new gear, save for maybe waepons. I have the lvl 14 STR, DEX and vIT rings, so I'm good to go for all my underleveled jobs. (SMN and BRD are the only mages I havent leveled but still. . . )

Also on a side note, they refrenced WoW alot, Saying things like, "FFXI does not have X feature like WoW but you get to do this and that". Clearly they never made it past 20 and clearly they are closed minded from onry playing WoW. I read the article (2 pages) to see if it was accurate. Only 3 things were dead on. Nothing else was close to the game. There little comments they made somewhat made fun of FFXI. idk why or who they let write that but just about anyone could have done better. So dont blame the people to much, they were doing what they were told. Only blame them if you tell them otherwise and they dont listen. Hopefully alot of ppl will straighten up after the fee comes to play.
