    lol 17 hours a day...

depends on if you form your own parties an not stand around seeking for hours at a time.

Getting to 75 is easily doable in 3 months if you play that much every day. S'long as you get one or two levels a day right? Thats also a quick way to burn yourself out.

the faster you try to level, the more you will hate this game.

this game wasn't meant to be played through quickly...

Couldn't agree more. It's slow-life meet RPG in a FF world. But out of curiosity, how long would it take to get to level 75 if you play, like, two hours a day?

5months? or more probably seens as PTs will take 30-60mins to make then you got 1hour to get at most 10k exp. Thats if you get a good PT within an hour, most times youll wait 2hours or more for a PT. Ontop of that youve got no time to make money. Youll spend a week just farming to get a piece of equip when you only play 2hours a day, might have to spend months for some of the more expensive items. Its just not gonna happen anytime soon.

And what if I play three to four hours a day and six hours Saturday and Sunday? I might be able to make that.

                It varies.

                Example?

I'm on my third year of playing this game, and I'm only level 59.

Take it at your own pace. I can assure you that if you rush yourself, you'll burn out and hate the game for the most retarded reasons. Trust me, I've seen it countless times.

Oh believe you me, the motives of my question is different. I'm not looking how fast I can finish it, I'm just looking into it on how I can pace the gameplay so that I do NOT rush myself and get the most out of the game without getting sick of it. And if it'll take that long, well then, so be it. I don't have any problems with it. As a matter of fact, this is good news... Instead of having to buy a new game every month or so because I finish it, this'll save me a ton of money AND give me lots of quality gaming hours. YAY!

Make sure you do missions, too. IMO, the story is the best part of the game.

Do your home nation's and Zilart's missions for sure, they're both fairly easy. The home nation missions and get progressively higher level as you go. Zilart missions you can't do until you are half way done with your home nation's missions (Rank 6).

Promathia's missions are damn hard, but give you a great feeling of accomplishment for every one you beat. Plus, you get access to beautiful areas. And, you can start these fairly early. Seeing as it uses level caps. First areas are level 30 cap, then 40, then 50, then 60, then 75. So, you can do these as you level as well.

Re: how long to get to lvl 75

I played for a little over a year and only got to level 42. I leveled up a couple different jobs though to like late teens early 20's. So it wasn't like I spent every minute playing my main job/character.

As other people have said, this isn't a game you can rush or else you will get frusterated very easily.

Re: how long to get to lvl 75

A lot of the fast leveling has a lot to do with the individual than it does with the game. The game caters to players that have more time on their plate than casual gamers, where character development is concerned. The couple of hours a week parent type of players do not see the development in the same way as a high school student burning the midnight oil in this game.

I knew a player from Beta (who was the first player to hit 50) who also took this advanced job class to 75 in a very, very short amount of time. However, it was never really clear on how this was done (Some said he was a child of an oil tycoon with too much time on his hand. Others said he was a retired internet-millionaire with nothing better to do with this life. Still, others were going around saying that there may have been two to five people playing that one account - which was more plausible than a single person playing the game) Many players disliked him, calling him a low-life and loser, although jealousy was probably the biggest factor in those player opinions.

I also knew several people that were in static parties the first day this game came out in NA (Ramuh, Unicorn, Ragnarok and Midgardsormr) This enabled them to go from zero to 75 in a relatively short amount of time, probably bypassing the need for "gil-collecting" running on subpar equipment/weapons and having each other to support on AF hunting. Majority of those players, however, had quit the game in less than a year citing burn-out and jadism among many reasons.

I firmly believe that one should play a game at his/her own pace and not at a pace that is dictated by other players or friends simply because the pace that this game is played can affect the appreciation for the game. This appreciation in turn drives a player's motivation to play. When desire is low for playing, the player is prone to leaving the game than when the desire is high.

Anyway, bottom line: If you're not having fun, please do us all a favor. Save your money and cancel your POL account. Remove yourself from Vana'Diel, because you're being detrimental to the game environment.

This is sad but true. The hardest of the hardcore play this game to death and end up hating it. I've been having strong urges to come back lately, I think maybe I burned out and just needed a break instead of quitting cold turkey...Too much blood in my FFXI stream. Quick someone hand me a syringe.
