Have Square-Enix announced that the expansion be available for the Playstation 2? I would love to run around as a Blue Mage without buying a 1,000$ PC to make it run X_X

I think it's a safe assumption considering a large portion of the player base is playing on the PS2.

All FFXI expansions will be released on PS2 considering that most JP players use PS2.

Word. Square Enix have reiterated multiple times that they have no intention of dropping support for the PS2 version of the game any time soon. With the PS3 and Xbox 360 just coming out, I'd say no one has to worry for another 2-3 years.
