What are some good rare/ex drops for nin from about 1-30ish. Thanks.

there isnt much rare.ex for nin 1-30. everything is pretty standard/generic.
you can try looking up items at ffxi.somepage.com but there really isnt much 1-30.

Not necessarily NIN exclusive, but handy items off the top of my head:

L7 Bounding Boots - drops from NM lizard in S Gusty
L10 Optical Earring - drops from NM sapling in N Gusty
L15 Gassan (katana) drops from NM leech in Dangruf Wadi (need fresh blood to spawn it - dropped from sheep in S Gusty on top of hills)
L15 Rogetsurin (throwing) - drops from NM shadow/wolf in K Highlands (spawn only on full/new moon at night)
L24 Empress Hairpin - drops from NM fly in V Dunes

Also not rare/ex but NIN only and easily obtainable through a bastok quest, the L28 katana Fukuro is well worth checking out.

Check any decent FF database for details of spawn, location, safe level to fight at, etc... I like ffxi somepage.

Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend Gassan. It's easy to get (You're on fenrir, i'll help you get one for free if you want), and lasts a LONG time (you can use it to like 22-25 at least, 28 if you're a cheapskate.

Oh crap, I forgot about that. Ah wel, just an option for lvl 30that is pretty handy and can net you some gil when you go to sell it ^^ Damn you Feba, calling me out like that, lmao!

Not rare/ex either, but the Nanban Kariginu is worth trying for. Or you can just buy it on the AH, I suppose. It's not particularly expensive anymore.
