when i took my ranger to dunes, post patch, i missed waaaay too many shots, until i hit level 14. at level 14, i equipped my rangers necklace, and i stopped misssing so much. by lvl 16-17 i was the second best dd in the game at those levels, second only to the black mages. i was landing more hits than almost anyone, and each hit i landed did mad damage.
--however, your axe ws IS better than any of the ranged ws's you get in the dunes, cuz they miss too much. when you get 100 tp, run up to the mob, ws, then head back to the sweet spot. it's not hard.
ranger is still awesome, it just has to be played a certain way. like everyone keeps saying, the patch didn't break the job, it only weeded out the sucky rng's. keep in the sweet spot and you'll rock
