Hello everyone, I would like to start off by saying...Hi, I'm new to these forums!

I don't have to much time for hellos though , I need to ask a question or two, them being.

1) I played this game for about 5 months, a long time ago, about 1 month after release. I was wondering if there are still a LOT of people playing. I remember there being about 20-50 people at a auction house at a time, is this still the case..or is it only about 3-5 people now?
2) If I were to create an account/char, would somone help me get back on track? I would appreciate this alot.

1) Still plenty of people playing. In Lower Jeuno the AH is a mad house >.<;

2) I'm always more than happy to help new players as much as I can. I don't have the resources I used to seeing as I lost my original toon, but I'd help with what I can.

Nice to hear, just to get a idea thoug, if you have played when I played *till 6 months after launch or so* what is the ratio like of players online. meaning
how many people than TO how many people now

of course this is a REALLY rough guess , but just to get an idea ^_^

Ragnarok, Midgard, and maybe Phoenix are probably the most crowded. Usually when I play there are around 1000-2000 people playing during the week and a good 2000-3000 people on weekends.

Nice, sounds good! I'm def gonna join back up, if you want to help me out ingame, pm/post your AIM/yahoo/msn messenger that way, when i do get it, I can talk to ya, I also wanna start out the game with people to talk with...

Hmm..I do have some concerns though...
I have heard that the economy has become aweful...and that would mean it would be extremely hard to get equips to lvl, leveling was hard enough back than/took a long time. So, what's the deal w/ the whole imflamation?

Also, will the xbox 360'ers be able to play on the normal servers, like us? If so, any ideas/ guesses on how many new people this will bring? J/w *I'm gonna play on PC, my pc owns , and I don't feel like getting the 360.*

OH yeah. The reason that I'm returning is because...er long story, maybe.

FFXI was the first game I played as a mmorpg *cept for RO, but I just played the 14 days of that, I have been playing it recently though* When I arrived in FFXI for the first time, I was a noob, one of hte BIGGEST noobs you could EVER find. I got in the game, and i said to myself...wt*? what do I do? I'm in some town...do i just walk around the whole game? Than of course, somone pointed me to levianthins gate *er, w/e it is now.* I began to go out and level, it was a month or so after launch, so many people were new. People ran around saying "can i add you to my friends list plz?" I gained some good friends and started a linkshell after a long time. I played a black mage taru taru, lvl 36 when I quit *Not going to recover him.*
Within my journies, I became addicted to the whole community. I gained friends, killed the 'shadow dragon' or w/e it is for the hard mission around the continent. Then I found a nice girl *yes, it was a girl, not some old guy posing as a girl...* Her name was Purrina I think, a mithra, not sure what server. We had fun leveling and talking, than we decided we wanted to get married *never ended up going down that way...* We were poor, and to low level at that time, so we found a house to RP in, play house or something, I dunno, it was actually a cool hang out! One day she just logged off and I never saw her again o.O.

Anyways, that's my story, it was sad for me at the time. The odd thing is, what's bringing me back to FFXI is the community. I have thought about FFXI at least 100 times over the last year, while swapping through MMORPGS. I have thought to come back, but decided against it, not sure if people sitll played *I like crowded MMORPGS, always people to talk to/people that you can be friends with.*

Anways, I wanna make some friends on the Ragnarok server, I'll make a post in that section when i get the CDs, but thanks for your time, feel free to post about my story and such. *Sighs about having to lvl up all over again*
