Oh, I'm sure they have plenty to do. I work in the industry myself and I've been asked to work between Xmas and New Year when I should have been off. But Boxing Day? Give them some time to themselves.

They get a 10 minute phone call on Christmas day to whoever they want. As well as a larger serving of bread and water. When the ten minutes are up the chains are put back on and they go back to work. If they make the phone call and eat the food in less than ten minutes, then they get whats left to use as their bathroom break for the week.
        Lets see:
        Beta
        ToAU
        Viewer Updates
Random patches to fix stuff that got messed up in the last patch

I figure it will be awhile before they see the light of day.
What screens were freezing when opened?

Japan doesn't really celebrate Christmas like Western countries do. You should be concerned if they have to work through New Years though.

Actually i think its more of the asian mentality, like most asian stores tend to stay open during Christmas and work still, they just have more drive in general imo. Oh well @_@; I am pretty sure they celebrate Christmas too, just not so much as Western countries.

For Japanese, Christmas is really an event for couples and stuff like that, like I said, New Years is the big end of year event which involves literally everyone you know. But even still they get into the spirit of Christmas because it's fun (not the spiritual side obviously, it never has anything to do with religion in Japan). I just got back from living in Japan for a while - there was a lot of Christmas atmosphere but that was about it, people don't plan on spending time with their families or whatever. Think of it like Valentines Day in Western countries, there's a strong atmosphere, but it's nothing you get a public holiday for.

I think SE believes no one is online anyway during Christmas. Too bad 80% of the players have nothing else do to during Christmas.
