(THIS IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY)

    A MACHINA CHRISTMAS
    By Kerrigan

Twas right after Dynamis and all though the zone
the linkshell was dead and left all alone.

The whms were down, but it would not last
the hope was that reraise soon would cast.

But none would come, the spell was erased
a problem it seemed the linkshell now faced.

Who could save them they thought with fear,
we know not a whm to ask who is near.

When suddenly from out the corner of their eye,
a tall dark figure, with tail, they did spy.

An angel from above sent to fix the disaster,
there he was, the awesome Piemaster.

Then suddenly it arose with such a great clatter,
    (Raise) at (I-10) there's something a matter!

The linkshell rejoiced as the whms were raised,
members did cheer to this Galka they praised.

But the the event took a turn for the stranger still,
when the littlest taru, Stu, offered him gil.

Piemaster said no, money I will not take,
he kneeled as to say, it was no mistake.

The group was all shocked, could this be trick?
    A truely nice player...who isn't a dick?!

Kerrigan begged the linkshell to make him a member,
his action this day they all would remember.

But before they could give him an invite to the shell,
he ran away in a direction that they could not tell.

Stu rushed to find him, shouting his name
but the mighty Piemaster would not accept his fame

It was then Raemax who parted the way,
he said something special has happened this day.

It was not gil, or items, or loot,
and it was not giving Drevni the boot.

This joy we all felt came not of these things,
it came from a Galka of all silly things.

Piemaster tought us all a lesson you see,
FFXI is not about loot, it's about you and me.

Before I logged to right all this down,
I gave the zone one last look aroun'.

And in the distance I swear I did see,
the Galka who saved us from this misery.

I yelled and I shouted, and gave a good chase,
but he vanished again, I could not keep pace.

But I swore he said this, as he ran out of sight
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.

LOL ... don't go there. I don't know the ins and outs of Asura, but I do have a couple of friends who used to be ex-Machina members. HNM shells (all of them) have their own set of drama and asking that kind of question is waiting for the Pandora's Box to be opened ... again.

May I have permission to post this on my LS' forums? I will quote it exactly and give you complete credit. I think they'd love all love this.

I got a tad emotional as well. Very well done. Rate +1

That was indeed a good poem. And that really is what FFXI is all about as far as I am concerned. Glad to see that there are other players out there like that as well.

no drama intended, I was just curious. Kleshya announced her quitting a couple of months back then Sham right after. Though it seems Sham is playing again so...
