Re: Multiple major cities in Treasures of Aht Urhgan?

Heh.. In the first 2 lines you explain why making NM drops to BCNM ones is good,
I don't see why they can't move NM drops to BCNMs, either. Let's face it, camping NMs is tough and you can go for well over a week without getting your reward.
and in the rest of your post you tell EVERYTHING why they shouldnt be made BCNM only. Silly you. Besides, I'm 0/35 on Leaping Lizzy. My boyfriend logged on my char lately, got them in a hour. Pissed? Anyways, you're stupid to say that all NM drops should be made BCNM only. I mean.. let's just make ZM and PM and Missions all the same packet, lets give all the jobs the same abilities and only 2 types of weapons! :D.. >.>

Re: Multiple major cities in Treasures of Aht Urhgan?

I never said they should make ALL NM drops BCNM-able, but there are a few good candidates. Have you seen O-Kote prices lately? They're 6 million in Midgardsormr, they've already caught up to Byrnie and they're almost to Haubergeon. Although I shouldn't have used the word "move," "add" would've been more suitable, since that's what they did with the hairpin and boots. And yes, I know I just stated all the reasons why you shouldn't want to BCNM for the item, which is also why it would do no harm to add them as a BCNM reward. It'd be a last resort, and most people would still try to camp them. I see what you're getting at, and you're right. I did make it sound like I wanted S-E to suddenly make all NM drops BCNMable...but there ARE a few which are seen more and more as a need instead of a luxury. The O-Kote is a perfect example. +20 Attack is a lot, it's no wonder everyone wants it. It's just like what happened with Haubergeon...suddenly it's a must-have for every melee that can wear it or you're gimp. Hell, O-Kote is a million times more powerful than Leaping Boots. If anything, it should be the Kote that's BCNM-able. Of course, there are many NM drops which should be left as NM drops only. I want a Voyager's Sallet, and I don't have Riverne access yet. It's pretty clear S-E wants it to be an additional reward for those who have gotten far enough in CoP to find the NM.

If you still disagree after reading all that, then I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree ^^ In the end it doesn't really matter since I don't have a say in what S-E will do, so I'm not gonna try to make you see it like I do. I just don't see much harm in it.

And the prices of these items are skyrocketing out of control. I don't particularly see how it "worked". B/c its a BC and b/c its such a rare drop in that BC, there are even fewer being introduced into the system.
As for venomous claw, I can't figure out a real reason for its recent astronomical increase. Yes, they added to a list of possible KS drops, but it still drops on all the HNM's it used to (iirc) and I dont believe they changed the drop rates on any of them either. It's nearly doubled in the last few months for no apparent reason.
I can understand the hauby's, what with Aquarius nolonger dropping the damascus ingot. The more I think about it, the worse it sounds. Since the changes to emp pin and leaping boots, both have quadrupled in cost. Even though there's less competition now, that doesn't change the fact that the drop rate is still incredibly low for these items.

And back to Aeni's post about changing NM's. Why??? This game is all about patience. Not liking a little competition isn't really a reason to change it. Especially when the change involves changing the NM's level and drop item. Why not just make a new NM that drops these new items and leave the current ones alone? I remember seeing 30 people minimum camping VE and atleast 10 or 15 camping LL. Now you're down to about 4-5 for each. And thats at peak times, mostly on weekends. Personally, I wish they'd do away with the rare/ex patch from a few months ago, atleast then there was a steady enough supply to keep the prices of these items in check. You said in your post we could argue that point, so I thought I'd put my own comments about why I felt it was a bad idea. I'd like to hear some more of yours or anyone else's for that matter.
Wow this thread is getting OT.

On-topic (to avoid total thread derailment): The quote does sound like there would be multiple, many zone cities. Though SE's definition of "kingdom" could be up for discussion as well. I'd like to see new kingdom's, but preferably they would be more like Jeuno (can't claim allegiance or start in them). It seems like it would make getting people together even more difficult, especially at lower levels.

Touche. Maybe if they didn't change the NM drop to Rare/Ex and left it as-is prices wouldn't skyrocket, though? I don't know. And yes, the prices have gone up like crazy...16 million for Scorpion Harness, it actually surpassed Vermillion Cloak. What the hell is up with that? D: Anyways, I guess I'm just trying to say that some drops are simply too hard to get. I mean, it's supposed to be competitive, and yet you beat out the competition over 10 times and don't get it? I'm not trying to come off as a whiner, I mean, I did eventually get the boots. I had to bite the bullet just like everyone else. I just think it can be unfeasable at times for many people.

Yeah, there's no way we can know exactly what it would be like now, had they not implemented that patch. But I do know that since the patch its 4x what it once was and before the patch its inflation was at a snail's pace. Vermi cloak and Noble's tunic are two others that just jumped in price for no apparent reason. I'm not aware of any changes to the recipe or in drop rates of recipe items that would cause a major price upsurge. Most definately though, SH is by far the strangest. I try not to think about it too hard. It gives me a headache. I like to just blame it on gilbuyers and go on about my business.

                • Move all good usable drops into BCs and leave NM/HNM fights just for the glory of the kill and for crafting materials to make better equipment and weapons (e.g., Leaping Lizzy is now a level 55 NM that now drops the Lizzy Skin, used to craft a new type of +evasion boot and Valkurm Emperor is a level 65 NM dropping Emperor Wing used to make a cooler version of the optical hat without the +evasion bonus - moving the usable items into BCs but at the same time, removing the rare/ex status will be a nice move IMHO) Argue all you want about this change, but I'm sick and tired of camping against other players for a rare/ex version of items I really need, but the other players only need to replace the non-rare/ex version they already own so that they can make money gouging other players on the AH.
huh? how about increasing the drop rate for rare/ex items. why should you have to kill the same thing 35 times for rare/ex? i thought the whole point of the crappy drop rate is so you can't get 35 of them to sell? rare/ex shoukd have at worst a drop rate of 33% that way other people can get thier shot at it. and it's not like you can sell it >.>

                • Raise crafting cap to 150 (They should, if they're raising the level cap) as well as readjust the crafting levels of all current recipes to reflect this change.
100+3 isn't enough? to craft better and more uber gear it'll have a level requirement of 76+ and w/o a level cap raise, pointless.

                • Add in nomad moogles to Selbina and Mhaura, but wait, why stop there? Also add Nomad Moogle that only citizen of the nation that is currently in charge of a region can see. God, this would make life easier, methinks.
if you're talking about outposts, fine after all only those in control can use the vendor, if you're talking about in Selbina and Mhuara, very spiteful.

as long as it stayed withing the bounds of "Ballista" ie. within matches, no running by and ganking someone minding thier own business.
