sorry to be like this but i have been playing on final fantsy 11 for about a month,and i have been having problems getting used to things

because it is christmas,in bastock a moogle has come along and given out cards and we are suppose to exchange these cards with the people he says...the thing is i dont know how to offer them out.......other people offer them by saying the card and the level and the persons job they are after..in between these red and green arrows...i dont know how to do that

its like
red arrow *name of card*green arrow *name of job title*red arrow *level of said job title*green arrow

does anyone know how this is accomplished?i think it is done by shouting...which i know is /shout...but i dont know how to get the red and green arrows up

sorry for it being a dumb question,and i know it may not be very clear but any help would be greatly appreciated

If you do computer, just type the word in then press the shift key, from there you have to pick through a list of phrases the phrase you want. You can get a better explanation at POL's website. Look at the left sidebar and scroll down, it's somewhere around there.

hmm are you sure its the shift key as nothing happened

i have been on and off there for two days now trying to do it..asking people on ther,who either ignore me or dont want to answer me,and have been on 4 forums asking the question but no one can give me any straight anwers...i will try that play online site..thanks anyway

Heh, that's the auto translator. They're doing that so other players JP, EN, EU alike know what they're talking about. It's accomplished by pressing the tab key after typing out part or all of a word. Sometimes for key items and normal items you have to press tab first, scroll down to the bottom there you'll find Key Items and Items, then find it. I'm not sure what dictates whether items appear automatically or whether you have to manually find them yourself.

The auto translator translates the selected word out to a similar word in whatever language the player that views is it playing in, and it's a neat feature.

first you have to open into your inventory and point your cursor to the item at least once so it goes into the memory I think. then you can put the item names into translator by pressing tab, press down to the buttom catagory which is [Item] and pick the item name from there.
if it doesn't show up, you can zone or point the cursor to the item again.

for jobs, try type white and then press tab. you'll see what I mean.

it's not the shift key, it's the tab key.

type the first 3 or 4 letters of whatever you want to say and press tb. a menu will pop up with a list of phrases on it.

like, type tele[press tab] and choose tele-altep. it will show tele-altep in japanese on japanese computers

Translating an item name takes two steps. First you have to see the item in a menu (Inventory, AH, bazaar, probably trade window works too). Then press Space Tab to open up the auto-translate menu, scroll to the bottom to open up the items menu, then back out. Now you can translate the item name just like anything else by typing the first few letters and hitting Tab.
